This was a huge hit in the 1980s.Alexandra O Neal had a number of iconic hits in the 80's as well: Fake, Criticize, Here with me Tonight. They also did another duet together: Never knew love like this before. Cherelle's song : Everything I miss at home is another smooth track.

Alex comes from the PRINCE camp. Don't half step with these two. Alex and Cherrelle had huge solo careers and they have more songs together. I STILL listen to their music. I will be listening to Alex's Christmas album/CD (released in the 80s) next month.

This was not a live performance. Neither one of them were actually singing. It was like a soul train performance people didn't actually sing live they just performed to song over the track. There are other performances of them singing it live they both have amazing voices and are legends. Especially Charrelle her voice sounds just like the studio it's so smooth and light yet so powerful.

Fun fact….the first & second verse is the same…lol Just found that out recently. 😂 They are singing to the track, so he may be actually singing and her lip singing. I recommend Sunshine and A broken heart from Alex O’Neal. There’s many more.

Lmao she is lip syncing. Patti Labelle, and Mariah are the only two that actually got to sing live on Soul Train. This is just what I can remember from back then. We still watched just to see our faves anyway. 🤣🤣🤣

She is lip syncing as this is from Top Of The Pops which was a British show. Sadly gone now. No artist performed live. Alexander O’neal’s verse is one of the best sung in music IMO!
