This beautiful song is not a Jam & Lewis song. It's by Monte Moir, who was also in the group The Time, along with them (he was the white dude).

I was in the Air Force. 25 years old, handsome, and buffed! You couldn't tell me nothing!🤣🤣🤣 Loved me some Alexander O Neal 💯 Great singer who I think kind of got in the way of his own success. Close call between the 80's and 90's. Can't pick one over the other. They were the best of times!

Great commentary. Yeah I was a teenager in 1985 and I used to sit on the hood of my car and look up at the stars while listening to this song with a good stereo system.

Alexander O’Neal is truly a great soul singer and I love how he uses his breathing technique on some of his songs. This song is a jam but the video...that's a different story! I can't watch this video without busting out laughing. Alexander's mannerisms, the overacting, etc. When he threw the note and when he woke up dramatically are my favorite parts lol.

Alexander was SUPPOSED TO BE the lead singer for this new group that Morris Day was drumming for ... but he started haggling with Prince about his paycheck 1985 I was rapping in Chicago. Don't worry, we used to laugh A LOT at the bad acting & cheesy FX in these videos!! Mainly because me and my friends were in high school. 😅 Alexander O'Neil trying to act VULNERABLE alone in bed used to have us rolling! 🤣Watching Video Soul and MTV had us cracking up... like at the end of Thriller, when MJ kicks his way through the door and loses his balance a little bit and almost falls, our goofy a$$es would laugh HARD at stuff like that!
