I completely agree. And that is what makes OV probably the better player the fact that he has an enormous amount of talent, but he works harder than 95% of the others in the NHL. Semin is probably more skilled but that work ethic that Ovechkin has outweighs it. But who the hell cares anyway, now that Semin is really starting to put it all together the Capitals now have potentially 2 superstar players. Unreal.

Semin has perhaps the best wrist shot in the NHL. His sniping is deadly. If he wasnt injured I bet he could have near 50 goals.

Nylander will be out for the rest of season, but that's the reason Backstrom has been getting alot more ice time. He had a back-2-back 4 assist game last week(a record for Caps rookies). Fast forward to tonight against Toronto, Kolzig gave up a goal with 30 seconds left in the 3rd. They could've got atleast 1 point in OT. I still like the Caps chances though for a playoff push. They play Toronto again tomorrow night, so revenge is always sweet.

You better believe it. Any caps fans as optimistic as I am about this season, especially in light of our off-season acquisitions? (and the fact that we've got Semin and Ovie)

actually i think semin is one of the more under the radar players in the league. And im a ranger fan by the way. In fact I agree about the hype machine around crosby. Why aren't Jerome Iginla or Pavel Datsyuk get as much respect as Crosby. The NHL has been kissing up to Crosby since he has entered the league. It is more than understandable Semin's annoyance if it all. Most non-Pitt fans are as well.

Its hard to say whose better. Youd think the Hart trophy winner is the better time, but it just seems like Semin just gets better every single year. I'd compare Semin to Datsyuk. He has some of the best hands in the league, a quick release on his shot, and a pretty good playmaker to top it off. Ovechkin probably is a little less talented. In fact the only real thing he has an advantage over Semin in, is his shot. OV is also a harder worker despite his skill.

well obviously youre from washington but, crosbys really at the top malkin clearly second and theyre are plenty of better vets than kovalchuk and iginla. ovy doesnt really make the list simply cause he has twice as many shots(just on net) not including all his missed shots than anyone else in the league. neither is he a two way player and thats not hockey. you make it seem like you play so you should know that. still the case is ovy, sid, and geno all make semin look like a joke.
