Honestly the top of the box always strikes me as such a missed opportunity to have put in a makeup bag to store things in and it would have been a really useful nice touch and not very expensive to make and include.

Or what about a pretty branded hand mirror? Or maybe 3-4 face masks arrayed in a fan? Or hell, what about having the top be the 25th day and have it be a full-sized eyeshadow palette? So many of these boxes (not all, but most) seem to not only be stingy, but also lazily put together and lacking in imagination.

Well they weren’t going to put a full face cream in when it’s cost nearly half the price of the whole price. If you love the brand it’s going to be good value it’s not going to be every ones taste/preference.

@@Al-hv4rb that’s what I was thinking! A full sized bottle of Pantene is going to be cheaper than than a 5x smaller bottle of Biosilk. so I think an important detail is how much the product is by volume, and then you can calculate the bang for your buck.

Sooo I got curious and went back and looked. Everything is the same about this box from last year. Besides some minor things: the drawer knobs changed from circles to star, the color of the items was slightly different. But everything was basically in the same order even day 12 for last year and this year was the same setting spray. Just thought to add my weird answer I found hahaha. But love your channel!! Thanks for the fun videos! 🥰

Every year we do a playmobil advent calendar which I normally order for $30ish dollars well this year they are over $60 😳 so we went with a $30 lego friends one and she absolutely loves it.

Yay- more advent-ness! I've personally never tried Charlotte Tilbury products, but if I was going to, an advent calendar would be a great way to do it. That being said, for $200, I would expect at least an eyeshadow quad or palette to be in there for that amount of money!

I totally have vivid memories of that "bald man magnet" thing! His name was Wooly Willy, and back in the days before portable DVD players, he was one of my only sources of entertainment in the back of my family's station wagon on our yearly drive from PA to Florida.

The lesson I'm taking away from these advent calendars is save my money and buy the things I like from individual brands. I just love watching you unbox them. Also, if you like Peach Mango Bang, look for Papillon Monster. Tastes like peaches and nectarines.

Hey Alexandria! Pillow talk was originally just one lipstick but CT came out with two more deeper skin friendly versions of the Pillowtalk lipstick and liners. They then came out with a couple of blushes and eyeshadows under the Pillowtalk name. ☺️

CT is great, but definitely way overpriced. If you look enough you will find a dupe for half the price or less. Works out about $16.50 for each drawer. A lot for samples and a few full sizes.

Paula's Choics makes one for a third of the price, and it's fragrance free. If you want the fancy, get a pretty jar and put some into it. The only good thing of late I have seen about the Charlotte Tilbury one is that she's finally listened, and sells refills for her pretty jars. I couldn't get over the heavy perfume, which my skin chemistry did not get along with. Revlon Super Lusteous lipstick shade "Rose Velvet" is identical to the original Pillow Talk lipstick.

I don’t think CT is overpriced if I’m honest. I’ve tried many different brands of drug store and high end makeup and hers is by FAR the best quality high end makeup there is. You get what you pay for and it’s definitely worth the price point in my opinion. A little goes a long way, especially where foundations are concerned and it lasts so so so much longer than any other so ends up overtime costing about the same per use as some drug store brands. In saying that, I do feel that in a calendar at that price point, the products should ALWAYS be full sized. I absolutely LOVE her mystery boxes though! If you’re wanting to try some things along with a free full sized gift with purchases(I got an airbrush foundation that is my all time fave at £65 and a full sized lipstick the last time I ordered) then mystery boxes from CT are amazing for that(though they still aren’t a cheap, but they do offer afterpay which is amazing!) ♥️♥️

I got myself a coffee pod advent calender this year and it's been a fun little adventure! I dont like buying a full bag of coffee that I end up disliking, so being able to try a month's worth of different coffee and finding out what I like and dislike has been fun! I mark my favorites for if I ever decide to order more in the future 😊☕

Look at you getting through 15 by the first week of December! Loving these videos. I know you're not a primer or setting spray person, but I find those are the products that give me the best glowly look. Milani makes a really nice dewy setting spray that I love, and the glow recipe dew drops mixed with foundation is really nice, or used under as skin prep/primer.

For as pretty as the box always is, it always feels like a mis-step. They could be so amazing but they just fall a little short. Definitely a box to keep as a keepsake or jewelry box. I love the feel of pillow talk! There are enough shades to be interesting but they all seem to me within the same color range.

In the past, I REALLY wanted to try that Magic Cream. I waited until Sephora had a sale and bought myself a jar. The smell-- oh nooooo --, it smelled like what one imagines an old shut in would smell like. I actually had to return it, because the smell didn't wear off, that odor just stayed put and wafted up my poor nose all darn day. I was so disappointed, having such excitement when I was finally able to purchase (afford) that Magic Cream; ruined because someone went crazy in the fragrance department. Yikes! On a side note, I know you don't like setting sprays, but girl, that is a lot of setting spray! Perhaps if you used a little less it may work better for you?

Hey Alex since you’re doing so many of these videos for the holidays, have you considered donating the extra products you won’t use to a woman’s homeless or domestic ab*se shelter? ❤️ It might seem minor to give some sample sized makeup and such to a shelter but the women there would love and appreciate it! It’s nice for them to get things that aren’t considered “necessities” for Christmas! (And helps with looking more presentable for jobs / court) Just an idea I had while binge watching your videos ✨❤️💄

I love that setting spray honestly! It helped to keep my makeup on while I was performing in a play and taking my mask on and off constantly. My main thought for this calendar is that items should have all been full size. If it's going to cost $200 then there should be like $400 amount of product.

Oh yes girl this chest is exactly the same as last year EXCEPT for the handles..(my thought on that is they didn't sell all of last year's so they took the chests and switched the crystals to stars instead) I got last year's and this year's as well and was disappointed just like you.. I mean I love the items.. well... the full sized items, but yeah it's a pretty nice, but expensive, advent calendar. I am hoping they are going to be doing mystery boxes again soon.. I missed them last week 😥😥 ughhh... all in all I really like the CT advent calendars. ❣❣❣

Girrrrl! I'm tellin ya, use the Neutrogena spray tan. Spray it on, rub it in and after a cpl hours it looks amazing! You don't have to rinse off and it doesn't stain clothes or feel sticky. Doesn't stain hands after washing either 😉 Legit, life changing!

If you think about it, Advent calendars are all just crappy trial sizes for regular price. You're better off buying something you actually like in a full tube 🙂 you're still saving money compared to buying the calendar

I just moved to SC! Myrtle Beach. It takes some getting use to. I would rather buy something I need then spend money on the samples. You are not the only one who has had to cut out things because of covid and just life in general! Have a blessed holiday!!!!

You should compile the best finds from all the calendars and do a list of 12-25 products and why you like them. A lot of people won’t buy the calendars but really value your opinion when trying new products. Also, once you’re done with calendars this year, will you tell us which one you liked best? I know they get a lot of hate typically in reviews for all the reasons you mention here and in other videos, but I would love to know which one you like best! Love your videos!

Beautiful Box! You can always slap a Mirror in that baby with one of the 1000"s I'm sure you have, with some glue or double sided sticky Velcro. If ppl are going to actually use the box, than that's a good amount of storage in there for makeup or jewelry. 👍

When I think of Charlotte Tilbury I do think of pillow talk and the magic cream, but I also mainly think of their eyeshadow quads. I can't believe in 2 years of this calendar there hasn't been a single quad!

Full honesty. Never heard of Charlotte Tilbury until I started watching Alexandria's videos. Out of the blue I've started seeing ads for CT on tv. Every time I see the commercials I hear Alexandria say Charlotte Tilbury in that voice she does. Every. Single. Time.

You are such a joyous person! As an English person I have tried many of her products. Personally I think her stuff is overrated. The magic cream broke me out - effectively I paid £79 for spots 😂

I typically have dull, dry looking skin and after a couple weeks of using it my skin was so glowy and plump and healthy looking! However if you do insist on sending to a friend we can be pen pals 😜

That bald man game was the best thing ever! Nowadays so many kids only play with toys/games that are just expensive, complicated, and all tech based that don't teach them anything... I know that a lot of people say the bald man is "boring" but its not only funny but got kids interested in science and how it worked.... bald man for life!

Never tried CT, mainly because I feel it's way overpriced. This advent calender definitely doesn't seem like it's worth the price and as for the top, well a quad eyeshadow palette would have been a nice touch.

The magnet game was one of those things you can buy at Keoger or supermarket games that hang off the shelves in random aisles to be impulse buys for kids. I had all of them, like the board with plastic cover that you can draw on, the paint by number stained glass things and the magnet hair one, silly putty... I'm from Indiana so got lots in common in this area. 😘😘
