With that amount of clothes I would like to propose an idea for a video. No-buy challenge with styling every day a piece from the wardrobe. Once you’ve wore all the pieces then you are allowed to buy new.

I don't have a youtube channel, my mother and I did this and it took us 18 months of wearing clothes only once, laundry, place in suitcase or pass it on. After the 18 months we had to bring back out our jeans and leggings that we had already worn to get some of the unworn tops through the process! We still have a small pile of unworn clothes. We didn't completely ban ourselves from buying anything new during that time. It has truly been a good exercise and it is totally excessive to have so many clothes. Clare from the UK.

@@LittleRockQueen14 I put together three outfits per week for both my mother and myself then laundered them and put them away in a suitcase or deciding we didn't want them anymore and putting them up for sale on Vinted. We did this for 18 months and still had a pile of unworn clothes. No repeats at all.

Hey Alexa, for your perspiration stained whites, you need to grab your washing up bowl, mix water with white vinegar, (not white wine vinegar) just distilled white vinegar put your blouse in and leave it soaking at least overnight, then rinse and then launder as normal, not too hot on the temperature as that can set the stain. Hope this helps. Thanks for the video. Clare and my mother, Susan from the UK.

its so nice seeing you get excited about the clothes you already own!!! also i'd love to see a video where you sit down with a friend who ISN'T a fashion influencer(? content creator?) and go through their closet or share advice about styling. basically someone who owns little to medium amount of clothes. I'd love to see how you would style different trends and outfits with a very basic closet that a person actually owns, not just a set of neutrals or a specifically curated mystery box. i would say it ties a bit to deinfluencing, with how most people only own 1-2 pieces for every occasion and dont have a whole roster out of which they can choose the perfect option, but you can show that cool outfits can still be made with a limited amount of clothes. i hope this make sense and have a nice week!

24:49 Oh but please take the strawberry cardigan off the hanger! Especially considering it’s handmade + you don’t wear it much + it looks heavy - there will be stretch marks from the hanger in the shoulders if it hangs too long. You can hang it sideways (there are hack videos) if you have to have it on a hanger :)

Alexa!! Try treating your underarm stains with a paste made from hydrogen peroxide, blue dawn dish soap, and baking soda. Put it on with a little brush (or toothbrush) and let sit for a minimum of an hour before washing regularly. As a sweaty gal myself, this is the only thing that removes yellow stains from all my white tops :)

Stain remover advice!!! I recommend doing a “strip” of your whites. This would include oxi-clean, borax, and your bathtub. There are lots of tutorials out there! But you definitely have enough white clothes that it would be worth the time. For future use I recommend a sew-in garment shield if the top can support it.

Alexa! I know not everyone wants medical advice but you might have hyperhidrosis which is treatable with topical medication or underarm Botox! Talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for Drysol or another medication that you can apply to your underarms at night to prevent daytime sweating! They can also discuss other options with you for treatment.

I have tried several methods to get rid off yellow stains and only found two that worked: Tip 1: Squeeze a lemon on the stain and leave the garment in direct sunlight. Tip 2: Powder bicarbonate on the stain and pour hydrogen peroxide (I use 3% which can be found in Swedish pharmacies). Let it sit for a while and then wash in the machine as usual.

i know you’ve mentioned it before, but i’d loooove to see a color analysis video from you!! i feel like it would help with narrowing down all the items that you love but still never reach for! i’ve noticed for myself that even if something is so amazing, if the color looks off on me i still won’t wear it even if i want to. its great because you don’t HAVE to follow whatever season you get, but it can give you an understanding for why you feel like you can never make certain things work despite loving them (for example, even though i love it, i know hot pink makes me look like death, so no matter how cute an item is, i know i’ll never wear it.)

You can clean the yellowing off of white clothing by mixing 1:1:1 baking soda, dish soap (I have never had issues with colored dish soap but you can use something clear to be sure), and hydrogen peroxide and scrubbing that paste into the stains with a toothbrush, leave for 20 minutes, then launder.

I have the same problem with white tops and sweat stains, and for a while the internet convinced me I needed to go aluminum free with my deodorant... which worked, but then I started sweating MORE and smelling MORE lol. So I went back to my heavy duty antiperspirants. ANYWAYS, my eventual solution was this: 1. soak clothes in water and vinegar for at least 20 minutes. (I usually do about a 2:1 ratio) 2. Make a paste of hydrogen peroxide + water (depending on the strength of yours, mine is industrial from my dad's work so I need to dilute) and baking soda. Make sure it's not too watery. 3. It's not gonna be easy or graceful but I like to use an old tooth brush and scrub it into the sweat stains. lol 4. Let sit for at least an hour, depending on severity then wash as usual. (again if they're really bad you may want a longer/hotter cycle)

For sweat stains on white clothes: Oxiclean, but soak the clothes for a couple hours (basically use hot/warm water to dissolve the oxiclean and soak the clothes on it) It may take a couple soaks depending on how stained the garment is. Also Oxigenated Water!

Hey Alexa! I've had the same sweating issue my entire life; there was a long few years that I was so self conscious about it that I never wore coloured tops for fear of my sweat stains showing. My partner knew how badly it was effecting my self-confidence and went on the hunt for the best antiperspirant he could find. We ended up on the Rexona Clinical Protection Summer Strength Deodorant and it has been an absolute game changer for me - I can now wear white and colourful tops without the fear of sweating through them. Highly recommend!

Liquid bluing was historically used on white garments to remove yellow stains caused by sweat and dirt-it's basically blue dye that is fractionally added to soaking water. The blue cancels out the yellow (color theory is amazing). Give it a shot if a vinegar soak doesn't work!

Regarding underarm staining: I was never able to find a way to get rid of those stains but I have finally found one deodorant that doesn’t leave them. It’s the arm and hammer essentials stick. I get super bad stress sweat everyday and since buying this deodorant I haven’t had a single yellow stain which is crazy because formerly I’d ruin every white top I had with sweat stains! It’s definitely been a life saver to me so I wanted to pass that along. Most sweat stains are chemical reactions to antiperspirant but I’ve found sometimes even aluminum free deodorant would leave stains still. Not this stuff. 5:51

I have this random idea for a challenge video. Create a new capsule wardrobe every week for a month and challenge yourself to only wear those pieces but the twist is you have to choose all new items for each separate capsule. I feel like this would be a good way to get a lot of wear out of outfits and clothes. You don’t wear as much.

Alexa for your style wise some key words that come to mind based on the things you like to keep are square smocked tops, but also you like some flashy, funky bold and bright patterns (but also you have sort of an eclectic, yet nostalgic vintage patterns that you enjoy too) and colors that may be considered a bit extra or gaudy to others with a fun graphic. You tend to like some primary colors, not so much muted or pastels. You also tend to like some fruit patterns like specifically more so red fruit as in cherries and strawberries, but you also enjoy comfort and basics. So maybe you're style would be considered to be eclectic and flashy, with a touch of retro vintage (like 80s/90s), outdoor country grandparent style mixed with cottagecore, and comfort! I don't know if these are 100% the right words to describe, but these are what came to mind. I hope this helps! :) One thing that has helped me was to create a things I don't like list and you can go as specific or as vague as you'd like with things you don't like. For example: you can have a Sweaters category and put down a fabric category and list what kind of fabrics you don't like, or what kind of fit/colors/patterns etcetera and you can do this with anything. It really helps to narrow down your style. Then you can also make a separate list of things you love that are a 10/10 and only put 10/10 items on there (not anything below 6/10) and after a while you will be able to learn the difference between what you like and don't like. Then you can have all of your thoughts in one place and when you go thrifting, or want to remember why you love or don't like a certain item, you can reference your list and it'll save you a ton of time!

Definitely do more declutter videos in future, when the time comes round again :) And here was me thinking I had loads of jackets, but you definitely win .. by a long shot!! I think storage arrangement makes all the difference, though. You've got a great system there. Unfortunately in my current flat storage isn't ideal so I feel overwhelmed by all my clothes and it feels like an enormous amount when in fact it isn't, just the space isn't good (and I live somewhere that really does have 4 seasons). So although I am fairly strict in my decluttering, I need to be careful to not be too strict either and regret getting rid of stuff!

In Britain we have something called the ‘varnish soap’ it’s like a bar of soap for clothes only I’m wondering if the US has an equivalent but it gets every stain out I’ve ever had

Hello, to remove perspiration marks from white clothing, especially cotton, you can use sodium percarbonate. Soak in very hot water.

Red spaghetti top is super cute, the pink tank top after looks a bit too snug, ❤ you have clothes that are hard to get rid of. I'm like you lol. Holes are super easy to fix, try and you tube how to mend, you'll be surprised how easy it is to fix

For sweat stains specifically, there are a couple of things you can do, but one thing to really avoid is chlorine/traditional bleach. It does not remove the stain and can make it look darker and more yellow. I add oxigen bleach, like Oxiclean (though any generic brand will work), with my normal detergent in every whites laundry load. It completely gets rid of sweat stains, and you can also use it to strip stubborn stains from whites like other comments have suggested. As a fellow sweaty gorl, just adding it to my wash load has always been enough for underarm stains! No spot cleaning needed 🤍

If you mix oxi clean powder and shout liquid until it becomes a paste and apply it to a stain and let it sit overnight- there has not been a stain I cannot get out with that mixture!

When you said "I'm not being brutal enough", I was like bro... fr, you've been keeping 95% of the clothes and then you kept not being brutal enough and I was like welp.... it's Alexa... but yeah, no wonder you accumulate so many clothes

I’m also a member of sweaty girl nation. I used to be never wear white top. I’ve tried everything in terms of preventing pit stains and honestly there are just two things that worked for me. 1. Wearing undershirts specifically designed for sweat. I like the ones from Numi. These only work for sleeved tops however. 2. I finally bit the bullet and got a Miradry treatment. It basically kills some of the sweat glands in your pits permanently. I still get damp pits, but nothing like before. I honestly highly recommend it.
