I'm a very avid collector of the Botanical Collection. They also use a similar technique in the Orchid and Birds of Paradise sets.

There is actually a Star Wars set that had you place translucent orange cheese slopes in carts without any stud connections and one play feature is to use a mechanism to flip the carts over making a mess.

If the play feature is to flip the table and make a mess then isn't that an exception? I sounds like your supposed to flip the charts like you're flipping a table in anger, if the entire purpose is to make a mess then is it really a negative?

fun fact the reason its exactly 284 is that's how many are made in a singly batch there was suppose to be 300 but it was easier to do 284 because of that

Whenever I build anything, I make it so everything is not only built in, but stable for play. I'm very passionate about making it so everything is connected to the point where you could turn the build upside-down, nice to see that I'm not the only one passionate about it :>

I’m glad soemoen is finally calling out the loose stud ocean technic, fine if it’s bordered on either side but it should only be rivers and enclosed structures, not sea sides.

MONKIE KID MENTION!! WE WIN!!! Monkie Kid DOES have one of these techniques though. In the Flower Fruit Mountain set there’s a box with an axe on the bottom left. It has a little container of logs you just put there. They spill any time im moving it and it’s sooo annoying

Dont forget the common usage of throwing in studs and crystals inside of a treasure chest. Its only partially contained because its common to leave the chest open.

The soil in all the plant sets also does this, which was really annoying when I moved out of home and had to leave my lego Orchid because transporting it would have been a nightmare

Using blue transparent studs is a better way to make like a water at least you don’t have to remove the mini figures legs

The A Frame Cabin set has loose pieces throughout the build that add to the clutter. It's a great set, but definitely annoying having to make sure everything is in place after you move the set.

I use loose pieces so 1. I don’t have have to have to have a connection under an object so that it looks more natural (like a blaster on the ground; with a clip it just looks a little ugly) and 2. Because I don’t intend on playing with it, but just displaying it for a little while. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference

If you want unstable building techniques, I recommend some 1970s sets - half the build hanging on one stud was pretty normal then.

I can appreciate unique techniques, but sometimes it feels like they're trying too hard. Like using Technic axles for hay roofs.

The Lego Minecraft bucket just has a single stud sitting in it to represent water, lava or milk, and then a stud and a plate for a bucket of axolotl. I always end up losing those studs.

Back a long time ago I had a ninja turtle set that had some sort of container with loose transparent studs to represent acid. So I guess lego does do that

When I build a mock I put it somewhere to look at it why would I need a stuff like this to be connected I won't touch it until i rip it apart to build something new and every part that I don't need to pry apart is a plus in my book😂
