Your masking of the draft lines need improving. Other than that I would give you 10th place at the model exhibit at the state fair. Bottom line is you ruined a complete model kit.

I am always enspired after watching one of your builds. There are not enough ship builds on KZfaq in 1/350 scale. Please build another one for us, as I am learning a lot of techniques from you to finish building my Zvezda Varyag. Keep up the great work and enspire more of us to pick the hobby back up after years away from it.

Thank you for taking the time to make both the model n the video, it certainly sparked off some diverse opinions, personally I think it looks great n I learned some very interesting techniques from you in particular yor dry brushing technique n the way you apply the paint to the brush I've never thought of doing it that way I've always dipped the brush then spent ages getting rid of the excess paint lol. All in all I think yor model looks brilliant n to think of doing another n adding PE is making my eyes n head hurt lol 😂 huge big thank you for time effort n patients 👏👏👏👏👏

“I’m not a pro” Builds an amazing model

I just bought the Graf Spee and noticed the main mast isn't illustrated. For 1/350 ships academy is a good beginner kit for the larger scale ships.

The Trumpeter 1/350 kit is far superior in fit and in detail. Comes with PE railing too.

Cant honestly say I'm impressed with the quality of that model its a bit rough but you made a silk purse out of a sows ear innit

'Pocket' Battleship because of the abbreviated hull...not the same displacement of the Tirpitz or Bismarck but just as lethal.

For its rust or wear affect, try letting an iron rust and sand it, add that dust to your model. You did a great job in the Admiral Graf Spee. I adore this ship. I live in Montevideo, whwre it was undid. Greetings from Uruguay.

next time you use masking tape try sealing the edges of the tape with 50% clear and 50% thinner. let dry. then when the paint is applied and the tape is removed the line will be much sharper.

Excellent job man ,glad You didn't hide the swastika,history is history ,my only advice for next ship you make ,try using photo etch ,it will really enhance your model,the plastic railing are not good at all.

hi again alex, love this build video. it looks perfect...... just need to tell you about a small error. in the video at 46 seconds, you gave measurements in both mm and inches.....but the mm were incorrect, it should say 52.6 cm long, (or 526 mm) and the width was correct at 61mm. its not important at all, as most people will know what you mean and its not affecting anything about the build, but thought id let you know anyway as i can see you are a perfectionist and mite not have known it was incorrect. awesome video as usual tho. :) ps, the nazi thing is probably not cool, but i think it is history whether it was horrible or not, and i believe using a swasticker decal is ok for model historic accuracy. i have a few german war models i'd like to do from my list, and although some may say its bad to display this symbol, i will use it for historic accuracy. and im not sure how other model enthusiasts feel about it if they come across a model that requires the symbol, but id like to think they agree its ok if its to be an accurate model from that time in history.

superb job.....any tips on build of dragon scharnhorst 1/350

Both the Academy and Trumpeter kits are inaccurate both getting even the basic layout wrong, Check the oft published photos of her in Montevideo harbor, the fore mast is too short (It w3as telescopic to be lowered to clear the bridges on the Kiel canal, the 6" gun turrets were fully enclosed with the access door in the rear not open or curtained of as in the kit The ships boats and positions were wrong as the Altmark off loaded some on their last meeting and what is that winch thing amidships were a davitted life boat should be??? I built the basic kit and was SO disappointed in it that i binned it ;the advanced boxing I gave it to a local model shop to sell. I still reckon the best Graph Spee model was the old Aroura in pre-war fit then the 1200th Eaglewall version with the old Airfix kit way behind. Both the 350 scale versions i wouldn't waste my money on . OPh and both got the main mast wrong, honestly just by looking at some photos and you can see it's wrong.

It makes me mad that they remove the swatstikas from lots of German battleship models, such as the Bismarck for example. It’s only making it historically accurate! No politics or hailing hitler just accuracy!

You should throw your masking tape into the barrel, and the paint is below initial level. the weathering at the end, terrible. what are these thick black dots on the trunk? So the video is real warte of Time. Sorry

As far as the swastika goes, since many kids build models I think it’s a generally good idea, however, I think they should put it as an option on more advanced models that presumably only adults would build. The Nazi’s committed one of the worst genocides in history, killing more than 8 million, while also starting the worst war in human history. We sanitise that history at our own peril. Those who know not their history will forever be condemned to repeat it.
