I have been following Alex since he started and he never sits still when it comes to his reviews....keeps getting better and better........he is the ONLY ONE that you can get consistent comparative data and isn't that what a review is for? duh!............these other guys are scattered all over the place and I could not make a buying decision with the other guys reviews because of this. Got 2019 Pilot few months back . Your review really helped in making my decision . Highs: -No high ground clearance so a bit easier to get in and out for shorter people . -Relatively quick -Only vehicle with torque vectoring AWD ; it helps on curvy roads /ramps -Shorter in length/wheelbase but big inside space -Has all the safety features -Negotiable prices as its not the best vehicle in the class Lows: -Not the best looking vehicle -Not the best handling capabilities in the class

Good review; I own one. HOWEVER with the lid in the cargo area down you can fit 4 carry-ons in the rear with the third row up. Better than nearly all in this segment.

Best detailed reviews in my opinion. I’d like to add when comparing to a higher grade brand like Honda to Acura one needs to account car insurance rates. So yes the Acura May be a better value, but add in insurance it may not.

I recommend incorporate driving experience on assistant tech features in future videos, I drive a lot of rental cars every year I can tell BLIS, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, etc. are calibrated all over the place. Recently drove Cadillac/VW/Audi/Infiniti ones had been smooth sailing while Toyotas I tried are 100% gas or brake so I ended up turning them off, most Honda and Toyota adaptive cruise controls also do not work below 25mph.

"The benchmark" may have been agreeable 10 months ago , but with new arrivals such as the explorer , Korean twins , and the upcoming Highlander , Honda's gonna need to step it up...

I realize this was four years ago, but since I am pricing used MDXs and Pilots, there has to be an apples-to-apples comparison. The Pilot Elite trim is the only level that offers ventilated seats; to get that in the MDX, one also has to go to its top trim level, the Advanced package. The lower trims of the MDX don’t even offer that as an option, so perhaps the Pilot Elite trim might be considered superior to the lower trims of the MDX. Contrast that to the Audi Q7, which offers 12-way ventilated seats as standard in the top Premier trim (with even more deluxe 16-way ventilated seats in the optional Luxury Package), and as an option as part of the Heat Package in the mid-level Premium Plus trim.

It's nice. But it's got nothing on the new Palisade. I'm curious to see more about the new Explorer too.

Potential 2019 pilot owners: please stay away from 2018-2019 Odyssey and 2019 Pilot, apparently, a lot of pilot owners have reported that the pilot has a defective infotainment system, it malfunctions, freezes, and sometimes shuts down suddenly, it may displaying “radio unavailable” or “network connection lost”. If you want to know more info, just search “class action lawsuit 2019 Honda Pilot” on google, apparently, a class action lawsuit was filed against Honda for knowingly selling defective vehicles and refused/failed to fix it. You can also go to carcomplaints.com to see the consumer Reports.

Good review as always - but I'm just not a fan of the minivan look, very bland styling but a very capable SUV. Can't believe I'm saying this, but the Subaru Ascent looks better (and that's not saying much).

Would love for Honda to go back the more boxy shaped Pilot. Look at how much better that style looks on the upcoming Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade.

I wish automakers who make these three row crossovers would give the option to remove the third row and add more storage ... I have a three row crossover where I never use that third row but would like to have more cargo room ... small cuvs don’t have enough room in the cargo and I like the unibody construction . Santa Fe is one of the few cuvs that have a large hidden compartments two tier which I also own.

The Ascent and Mazda only have a 4 cylinder engine across the board. In my opinion, the Pilot LX is the best value. If you want Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, go to you local radio shop and buy an aftermarket unit.

I have been researching actual OWNER reviews on both....and am getting a little concerned about the overall QUALITY build problems with both of them and I would like your opinion. 1) The PILOT: Lot's of new owners of 2019 revamped Pilots are complaining about an impossible to fix" body part fit problem.....regarding the tail gate and the upper rear bumper fit. Evidently, dealers are saying that there "is nothing that they can do" to repair it? 2) The 2020 Ascent: The CVT Transmission!!! Lots and lots of pretty serious complaints about "transmission chatter", and slipping? Slow infotainment system with flaws? Sloppy steering. Any comments? Thanks.
