Big three-row SUVs such as the 2019 Honda Pilot exist almost exclusively for the use of family folks who don't want a minivan. The Pilot has all the interior space of those famous '80s soccer-team haulers, but from the outside it looks truck-like, tough even, especially with a minor face-lift for 2019. A: All trim levels of the Honda Pilot come with a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It's backed by a nine-speed automatic in the upper trim levels and a six-speed in the entry levels.

A: The 2018 Honda Pilot was an IIHS Top Safety Pick, and for 2019, many of the safety features that were previously options are now standard on all trim levels as part of the Honda Sensing suite.
