I honestly really love all the collaboration that seems to go on between car companies. It gives us a lot of vehicles we wouldn't otherwise have, and I just appreciate companies not being unnecessarily aggressive toward each other.

I just don’t feel Honda did enough to justify the Acura badge, especially when you look at the Blazer EV how it feels just as premium as the ZDX and what Cadillac has been able to do with the Lyriq it’s almost embarrassing for Acura who were handed the platform.

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this joint venture between Acura/Honda and GM. However, it appears to be very well-executed, which I suppose isn't surprising considering the impressiveness of the Cadillac Lyriq.

The Ultium battery standard is genius, though. It will be easy and affordable to repair/replace forever.

Not really for me. GM has its faults, which company doesn't, but you've also got Honda's reputation on the line. I'd think Honda is keeping a good watch on things.

in the middle of the front air vents there needs to be a button. it looks off without one.

Yeah I kinda expected the hazard light button to be there. On that note, where IS the hazard light button? I didn’t see it anywhere looking around.

@@ALMX5DP if i remember correctly, it’s up in the area of the map lights and sunglasses holder (but there probably isn’t one since it’s a gm car) with the onstar buttons

@@nathanwright8616 ohh up on the top header. Yeah that makes sense I think I do recall those buttons you mentioned on other GM vehicles. I’d probably prefer it lower on the dash but maybe it’s fine up top too.

Finally, someone mentioned about this, it’s such an eyesore when it’s blank. It makes you feel like your vehicle is not a fully loaded one even if it’s the top Type S trim. That’s perfect a place for a hazard button.

Good start. Hoping to review the RWD. Also no mention of the glass rear view mirror, no lane centering (big miss) but adaptive dampers. Seems competitive except lane centering. Lots of competitors though: Cadillac, Audi Q6 etron, Polestar 4, BMW, GV70. I also think VW ID7 is a competitor but not coming to states I guess..

This certainly seems to be a stop gap vehicle to help Acura put out some EV options sooner, as you mentioned, and it feels that way and that will be okay for some people. I’m excited to see what future projects Acura/Honda will be able to put out outside of Ultium, just because I’m curious. I’m not itching to get an EV so I’m really not in the market, but I’d think that if I was I might actually cross-shop this with the Crown Signia based on overall shape and vibe I’m getting from the car, as well as fuel efficiency. I think I’d probably pick the Crown Signia over this just on initial impressions.

CarPlay. If GM continues to eliminate it from their EVs and there are options from other makers, that’s the route I’d take. The Lyric currently has CarPlay while the Optic, Chevy Blazer and Equinox don’t.

The other factor must be emissions credits that they don’t have to buy now. The rest of this rebranding of another manufactures powertrain with a different wrapper serves no long-term purpose. They are extremely heavy as a family of technology. However, their choice to use Apple CarPlay would have me choose this over the Cadillac hands-down. GM will learn this the hard way, like everybody did with the touchpad screen control. We own a computer that we keep in our pocket and we really don’t want to be tied to a subscription for these other iterations where we have to keep our media and navigation tools while others are boxed off the main display. 🤷🏻

The decision to build in concert with GM made what is arguably an overweight, inefficient vehicle, one that does not really fit in with whatever Honda/Acura likes to think of itself as. More evidence, if any were needed, that the US restrictions on origin of parts is hampering the transition to EVs.

I understand that is makes business sense, but that doesn't always produce good vehicles; BMW Supra. Like many loyalist we like our Japanese vehicle from Japanese manufacturers. I am fine with my Subaru Solterra being a Toyota BZ4X twin. I wouldn't be ok with a Honda product from General Mistakes.
