Use the correct oil and filters, keeps receipts, and save money. I do the changes for daughter's '18 Giulia and use the AR app to record everything I do. You will be good with warranty. We also did get the Mopar extended warranty, but purchased outside of buying the car.

I pay $100 for oil change from the Alfa dealership..whoever is charging you $350+ is getting you good..

The Giulia is like any other car. Oil and filter changes are done the same way as other vehicles. I do my daughter's for about $40 total.

@@brentkhack6404 well I used Mobile1 as well but the one that the Giulia uses.. there are many M1s but most of them are not for the Giulia. Giulia uses API SP/GF-6A/SN Plus Certified SAE 0W-30 Full Synthetic Engine Oil.

“Certified” doesn’t guarantee that the kid that does your Oil-change wearing an Alfa Romero uniform knows what he’s doing! Fun fact: most dealership oil changes are performed by the LEAST qualified mechanic in the shop! A trained monkey, if you will. Congratulate yourself in bringing your own oil and filter to a mechanic you trust that will do a proper job on changing the oil!

You ain't lying. My best friend works at the local Toyota dealership, he is not a certified or trained mechanic so all he is allowed to do is rotate tires and change your oil. They only pay about 15 per hour there, but since the grease monkeys are not actual mechanics that is about all they are worth. There is a difference between "lube techs" and actual mechanics, the Toyota dealership has about 3 real mechanics on site but the rest are just supervised grease monkeys. That is why I tell people to change your oil yourself, especially on European brands of cars.

Even Recalls are often done that way. The Tech who's tech number they use on the RO (only used so that the OEM manufacturer will pay for the recall work) is often not the person doing the actual work.

I’ve worked for different dealerships and seen how they service the “cert used” ones lmao. All certified used means is they are certain that it’s been used already😂

What the hell is everybody talking about? I own a 2018 ti sports change the oil every 3000 mile. $30 for the oil $10 for filter take 30 minute and no light to reset . Been doing this for 6 years NO PROBLEM! 😂

I agree. Oil and filter ran me $50 and I have a shoo out by me that'll do the oil change for $30. If you just change the oil before the light turns on, you won't have to worry about resetting it.

I can't value the opinion of someone that thinks its ok to pay $375 for an oil change, just because the shop is 'alfa certified'. Is the person actually doing the work certified? Or they just have the new guy no experience high school dropout doing it? That and the hot air intake that you don't realize is hurting your performance.

No, I agree that $375 is ridiculous. We’ve done intake temps on the BMS intake and it actually runs a few degrees cooler than stock.

I don't pay near that for an oil change at my local Alfa. I paid $119 at my local Alfa dealer and my car is NOT under warranty

Here in Alberta, my Stelvio Q4 cost $310CDN. Service included a bunch of other checks. Oh, and the car is spectacularly wonderful!!!!!!

The only difference between an oil change on an alfa than any other car is that the maintenance light has to be reset through a scantool. Just like BMW, you cant reset the oil light without some type of scan tool.

I own a 2019 Stelvio and my oil changes cost $211 for my oil changes, with parts and labor. I’m in Phoenix. I dont find this car more expensive to maintain than my 2013 BMW 325.

Following the maintenance book and the actual car oil requests, mine gets the oil changed once a year. ...and yes, its the 100% synthetic stuff they recommend. ...and costs me zero, because when I bought it, I also subscribed to a 4 year maintenance free program that includes oil changes and any needed maintenance time. Basically, I pay zero for the yearly maintenance, unless I need new brake pads or something like that.

It pays to shop around, even certified Alfa dealers charge surprisingly different rates for oil changes. I found a $200 oil change dealer near my house, dealer on the other side of town charges $300!😵‍💫

Alpha tech here, the sunroof will break, the rear tires will eat the inside edges off, the cooler in the intake will leak, and the power seat mechanism will fail and don’t hit a pot hole or those wheels will be bent. Beautiful car tho.

$400?? They are taking you for a sucker bro. My local Alfa dealer charges $180 for oil change. If someone told me $400 for a 2.0 I would laugh in their face. And you don’t need anyone alfa certified to do an oil change. it’s the same process no matter what car. can’t mess up an oil change unless you don’t know how to measure oil.

Don't need to be certified. 5.5 quarts of the correct spec oil plus a filter. Done.$50-$60

You were charged 400.00 because the labor rate is much more and the oil is much higher quality and cost a lot more than the cheap oil you’ll get at most places.

Get rid of that car while you can. I’ve owned many luxury and sports cars with underbody panels and never have I paid more than $100 - $150 for an oil change at a dealership. My opinion is, if Stellantis wants to charge premium prices for its “premium’ cars, then it needs a track record of long term performance and reliability. Alphas ain’t it.

Man you really don't know much about engines do you? Most cars have the oil filter on the bottom lol. Of course the QV has it on top but traditionally MOST have it on the bottom... You getting full popped on that oil change, they figured since you don't know much about cars they can easily rip you off. I only pay like approx. $60 for oil and filter and then pay like $20 for someone to change it but most of the time my Alfa Tech changes my oil on the side at the dealership for $20 because it is not hard and it's basically the same like any other American made car that does not require any special techniques to do so. They don't even remove the who cover from the bottom. They just lower it from the back side and take off the filter. Anyways hope you are learning some lessons. Then you talk about the maintenance warranty that is $40/month extra on your payment... then you are actually paying more on your maintenance by the time you actually make the oil change...
