Alfred Tinker was an alcoholic, with a failed marriage and no hope - living in a Northern community. "I knew I needed something to change. I tried changing on my own." establishseries.com
The answer wasn't self-help books, native spirituality or religion. Now with a biblical foundation, he has true hope and is no longer a victim.
As you watched the video, did you notice:
- He didn’t have the gospel despite going to church and seeing God begin to change his life. (Many would have celebrated him as a believer.)
- The gospel became the centre of his operation: Christ died for him, personally - a broken man. (Many don’t have this gospel.)
- God now sees him as He sees His Son. (Many do not know this level of position in Christ.)
- He is no longer a victim. (Many would see him as having multiple ‘victim cards’.)
- He had hope through his tears. (Many do not know abundant life in Christ in their suffering.)
- If Jesus was the centre of his community, their culture would flourish. (Many have a defeated view of their culture or equate it entirely with native spirituality.)
