I put it in a fish bowl with water I had from my tank and sit in in the sunlight in the window and it grows like crazy and yes it’s pest free

Hello, beautiful aquarium, if I were to illuminate the chaetomorpha 24h 7 days a week would there be problems for the alga? does it necessarily need a few hours of darkness? thanks .. Greetings from Italy

I left mine on 24/7 worked pretty good but you need to allow movement so one side dosent get burned

I'm 5/6 weeks into a fishless cycle, ghost fed twice I the entire time. Small frozen cubes. Did 80 gallon water change and installed chato in the sump with tunze8821 grow light, hoping the chato will help drop nitrates. Any tips? No lights on the entire cycle except chato down below

Sounds like you are off and running. We have a ton of videos on refugiums, so just type in "brs chaeto" or "brs refugiums" and you'll be off to the races!

Will it work in a freshwater tank?

Chaeto will not survive in freshwater long-term. That said, the concept of a refugium could be utilized in a freshwater tank. Any plants will uptake nutrients as they grow, so you could either plant your aquarium or even have a remote sump with plants to uptake nutrients.

@@BulkReefSupplyHi, can you describe how chaeto macro algae look like? I found a plant rizome in my saltwater tank slightly after adding my 2 clown fish. No, it didn’t come from my 2 clown fish and I thought it that it was a tiny green plastic piece that I accidentally dropped in my tank. The rizome I have is segmented and has started to curl a bit. It’s also feel quite hard for such a small piece. It’s been in my tank for a few weeks and has stayed green the whole time.

I've been in the hobby for 4 or 5 years and I can't recall a time when they weren't out of stock

No I will say I haven’t ordered any so I don’t have a personal opinion but I’ve been on the waiting list for three months and they’ve never emailed me back or called to let me know that they finally got it back in

No I want to say first off I love bulk reef supply but if you look at everybody’s opinion who has bought this from you has said it’s dirty it comes with bugs is not clean and has shown up Dead
