Today we tackle a controversial topic straight on - AI Art.
Should it be used in board games or abolished entirely? Is there a "correct" way of using machine learning to create our game assets?

In the 'Kickstarter Stress Test' series, we analyze Kickstarter campaigns from the perspective of a potential "Superfan" - the ideal audience who will not only discover their new favorite game, but will become ambassadors for it, actively promote it within their networks, essentially providing free word-of-mouth marketing.
Is the story presented in the campaign clear? Does it hook us in with the most exciting selling points? Does it get us ever more excited as we read along or even just skim the page?
We also aim to identify any elements that might discourage us from pledging, confuse us, and ultimately cause us to click away. Once we discover a problem, we try to analyze a simple solution to hopefully fix it.

I'm biased because I am a Caleb fan, but the amount of work he has put into this project is undeniable. Listening to his thoughts not just on Algomancy, but on his powered synergy cube really proved to me that he has some amount of talent with game design. Not a big board game or KS guy, but Algomancy seems like an absolute steal for the (imo) beautiful art and unique gameplay.

Claims regarding training data set for SB are not true. It is not public domain, it is everything they managed to vacuum. He may have misunderstood how this works, thinking that finetuning with your own art changes anything. Current AI models are unethically, and probably not legally sourced. Time will tell. For me, this is the deal breaker, I will not back or play a game done with these generators, not in their current format. Most people will use this to cut corners. That is the reality.

AI-generated images are heinous, algomancy at least thematically ties the Ai generated images to the theme (kind of) TBH, even with the composition seed image it appears as though all the artistic heavy lifting is being done by AI which means its using a data set populated by others people work -

I understand what you are saying, but I'm curious - do you think there is any "morally sound" way to use this technology? What do you think can we do to bridge this gap?

@@kaganproductionsit's immoral. He claims it's all based on public works, like from museums, but that's still stealing years of experience and skill sets artist used to make a living with their art. There is no bridge to the gap; it's simply immoral
