The lookouts on this trail are absolutely spectacular, especially in the fall.
Booth's Rock Trail is a loop that is just over 5 km long, with a total ascent of about 175m.
Algonquin Park is extremely popular in the fall. To visit the park at any time, you will need to buy a Daily Vehicle Permit (DVP). In the fall, I recommend buying your DVP ahead of time on the Ontario Parks website. You can reserve this up to 5 days in advance, and DVPs regularly sell out in the fall.
That process works well for all the trails in Algonquin Park except for this one. To park at Booth's Rock Trail, you need a special DVP. The Algonquin Park Highway 60 Corridor DVP cannot be used for Booth's Rock Trail.
For several days I went on the Ontario Parks website to try to get a Booth's Rock Trail permit, but they were always sold out within seconds of the day's reservations opening up. So it seems the easier way to hike this trail is to camp overnight at the campground. Then you can use your camping permit to park at this trail.
The parking lot is quite small, however, so you may want to get there early. If you are staying at the nearby campground, you can walk there, ride your bike, or even paddle over. There is a beach beside the Booth's Rock Trail parking.
