Whats wrong with that? Being a progressive is about achieving progress, big or small. Very rarely is it by leaps and bounds, the vast majority of the time it is incremental. Calling oneself a progressive, yet refusing incremental improvements, coz its "not enough", is selfdefeating.

Mr Velshi talks about "where we get our information". His true perspective seems to be about how to produce information rather than how it is consumed or how to evaluate the information we consume.
