John Clark, a young drifter comes to the aid of beleaguered U.S. marshal Blyth, who has been shooting it out with a gang of outlaws. Wounded but still alive, Blyth deputizes Clark and assigns him to capture the notorious Kootney Kid gang!

They cast Earl Dwire as "The Kootney Kid." He was 51 at the time and looked older than that. In 1935, it seems that nearly everyone in B-Westerns, except for the leading men and ladies, was an older man who had been appearing in them since the 1910s. Sometime around 1940, they finally started hiring "younger" actors for the supporting roles--guys in their 30s and 40s!
