Laynes voice was so powerful man
@MaxHohenstaufen6 жыл бұрын
Hbomb powerful. I mean, I love Chris Cornell, god bless his soul, but to me, this video is proof that Layne Staley was the most perfect voice ever, in all respects, i cluding power but also tone, timbre, style, everything. If there ever was lyrics to Mozart's pieces (other than the operas like "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen!", of course), he (Staley) would be the man for it. Motherfucker was like a demigod. RESPONDER
@richardnoggin49276 жыл бұрын
Maximilian Dummnichtswürdigkerl that's a little over the top. He was really good at HIS style. But there are better vocalists.
@garrison05320826 жыл бұрын
Richard Noggin it's all relative bro. For instance, who and why are they better....time is money so don't make me wait forever
@richardnoggin49276 жыл бұрын
garrison0532082 Ur funny. What's so difficult to understand? It actually depends on the standard. If it's a competition, what are the standards? You could probably Google vocalist of the year in his active years and see what rock magazines said at the time. But to cite one of many examples, SEBASTIAN BACH, was by far a way more powerful vocalist. Judging by range and power and how long he could carry a note. It's not even a question. Hence why I said, for HIS style Layne was great, but if you include all vocalists, no way the best.
@richardnoggin49276 жыл бұрын

i saw them in melbourne with Suicidal Tendencies in 1991. Robert Trujillo was with Tendencies then and of course Layne was still alive. It was one of the better concerts Ive been to. Tendencies for about 45mins then at least 90 mins of Chains. They were in top form, although Sean was a bit pissed off with something as he trashed his drumkit at then end of the show. What got me the most was Laynes singing and Jerrys guitar tone. These guys were the real deal, all the other bands were shit in comparison, just riding on their coat tails.
