I remember as a kid watching Mike Starr on celebrity rehab. He went to a club with young people telling everyone he was the bass player from Alice In Chains. @@glitchsisterYes, but genuinely, he has a really interesting attack style. Most bassist in rock play either with a pick or with their 2 fingers as usual. Which is cool, I mean that’s the way to do it! But mike is really playing that bass as if it was a drum or something. He hits the strings slighty different on certain notes, sometimes with all his fingers, sometimes he just lighty taps it. I don’t know it’s fascinating to me!!!

Great bass player, underrated even. I think it’s partially because he was only on the first two albums and the we die young and sap EP’s. And the way he was let go just damaged his reputation in the band. He and Layne seemed like such good friends but I guess the business of the band took precedence. Just a shame how it turned out for all of them.

I can't say I have ever understood how someone could let a drug overtake their life, but I am not them and they are not me, everyone is different and has different mechanisms to cope with stresses and different vices which can mislead you. I do wish healthy Layne was still here to grace us with more of his vocal brilliance with Jerry. Loved his Mad Season stuff with Mike McCready. Also loved Andrew Woods and Mother Love Bone. Thanks so much for uploading this and part 2. Pure Gold. Much Appreciated.

I saw AIC live also on this tour at Nassau Coliseum in NY. Layne was incredible. I’ve seen a lot of shows in my day and Layne’s voice reverberates through your soul. He barely moves on stage. He just holds the mic (like you saw in soundcheck)and sings his heart out. I remember being blown away by them. I must have been 16. My only regret was being in a grunge phase and not staying for Van Halen because we were “too cool”. Cannot believe I missed out on seeing Eddie play live. We were so stupid.

Awesome to see them having fun. Layne looking healthy. Can see Dave Lombardo's massive drumkit in the background. I wish there was close footage of that.

It’s actually Alex Van Halen’s kit. There is more footage of this where they are out front watching Van Halen soundcheck

@@BCyr1991 Oh really? I didn't know they were playing together. I know 1991 was Clash of the Titans with Slayer and Lombardo played a chrome kit back then so that was the obvious assumption to make

@@Vorgaloth Yeah they did the Clash of the Titans and a VH tour. Hell of a year! The big set with the gong in particular is a funny connection of Dave and Alex.

2 years clean off heroin. Kurt and Layne are still my idols, but its chilling when you see them enjoying themselves prior to heavy drug use. Very relatable and good reminder. One day at a time everyone!

5:38 I remember their sound guy in 1992 when AIC was opening for Ozzy. Their sound guy (or stage hand) would stand up there and point at everyone and yell "cocksuckers" at everyone repeatedly. It was frigging hilarious. As evidenced by this 1991 video, and Layne making fun of it I can see This particular sound guy is famous for it.

fxxk this is cool. Cool parts: Mike Starr was playing the base from Ozzy Believer, young, mean and lean looking Jerry doing some scales then switches to power chords, EVH amp behind him then unexpected we get Into The Flood again, Would from the whole band. Layne starts to bring his big rock voice online with Would.
