The actors didn't know how this was gonna play out. It was their legit reaction. Nothing like this had ever been seen before. That scene at the dining table literally scared the shit out of the audience worldwide. Me included lol.

The alien was blocking the way to the shuttle. She had no way to the shuttle, so she tried to turn the cooling units back on to save her life and perhaps try something else. When she failed to turn the cooling units back on, she decided to try for the shuttle again as it was her only option. When she returned to the shuttle, the alien wasn’t there anymore, but as we soon found out it boarded the shuttle.

People always ask how did Ash get into the computer room without Ripley hearing him. The clue was earlier when Ripley ask Ash was there any word from him or MUTHUR and Ash said we’re still collating. It was MUTHUR that let Ash in unannounced.

The reason why she tried to turn on the cooling unit. It's because if you notice the alien was blocking her way to the shuttle. So since she can't get to the shuttle, she doesn't want to blow up. That's why she tried to undo what she did. Because she couldn't Get past the alien.

Swell video! The issue for Ripley going to the shuttle the first time and finding the alien in the way (at 37:40 onwards) was that she couldn't kill it due to its acid blood. Ripley then tried to stop the self-destruction because her way to the shuttle had been cut off, but was too late.

She tried to deactivate the self-destruct because the alein was between her and the shuttle and so she couldn't get away.

Yes, the film started out slowly. I remember being a bit bored in the theater during the beginning, but the visuals kept me intrigued. The look of the film was magnificent. The alien ship, the alien….it was pure H.R. Giger!

Check out Superman the movie (1978), The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Thing both from (1951) THEM! (1954) And Superman II the Richard Donner/Directo's cut.

I love all of these films! And actually REALLY LOVE the assembly cut off the third film. The grimy look and feel combined with the haunting score. Some of the visual shots may be lacking but otherwise it's much better than the theatrical cut.

Dude Parker made it all the way to the end and went out a boss trying to save Lambert Ripley tried to deactivate the self destruct because the Alien was blocking her path to the shuttle. as far as waiting to kill it on the shuttle she has to bait out into the open so she could blow it out into space. The sequel ALIENS is absolutely bonkers.

One of my favorite movies that combines sci-fi and horror. Btw did you notice the black crew member was the second to last human murdered? In many movies in the past often seemed to delete black actors first. I’m not sure if they deliberately wrote it this way to stop that trend.

People keep saying "watch the first two, ignore the rest" - which, in my humble opinion, is a bit unfair. I personally liked 3 and 4 for what they were (and yes, even Prometheus and Covenant)... although granted, they're not _as_ good - but that doesn't necessarily make them "bad" movies overall. I'd say: if you're into this type of _creature feature_ you should make up your own mind. :) Especially compared to some of the lukewarm, mediocre stuff we get nowadays, they're still very much enjoyable.

Kane is such a an idiot. I still don’t get how he survived to return to the Nostromo given the facehugger breached the spacesuit helmet when it attached itself to Kane’s face.

The great thing about this series is you get a totally different experience from each movie, i wont spoil but 1,2,3 all amazing, then Prometheus and Covenant are v.good. Resurrection is only disappointing one and thats one character who totally ruins it

i have seen a lot of workplace accident reenactment videos and let me tell you what i've learned. never be worker A. a lot of the time don't be worker B or C either. and whatever you do when you are worker D, and worker B or C comes to tell you what happened to worker A, FOLLOW PROTOCOL. in this case worker E broke protocol and this is what happens.

Great review. There are some movies where the black man makes it to the end but they does seems to die more often don't they? Anaconda, Deep Blue Sea, Event Horizon, Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Resident Evil 2, Blade 1-3 to name some films where they make it. Keep the excellent reviews coming.

My parents took me to see this in theaters when it was released I was about 9/10yro this movie had me so scared of the dark I would run from room to room turning lights on.I wouldn't go ina dark room. And it might just be me but I always felt that jonesy the cat was trying to warn the dude that the alien was behind him cuz he was growling,jonesy never growled at them. Even when he was chasing him.but agin that's just my opinion. 🤷‍♀️.

This,the thing, and Bladerunner,(Scott also did Bladerunner!😮😮😮) are the 3 most important sci-fi movies ever made. Maybe add Tron, and it's sequel, here. No CGI, all models, special effects and practical effects! There is a huge tie-in here. In Prometheus, the prequel to all movies, the alien here on the ship with his chest blown out. These are Engineers. A race of beings who seed life on planets and if they don't like how the life is progressing they seed another life to wipe out the remaining then they destroy each other. Engineers created humans Aliens and supposedly Predators and gave humans the technology for Replicants and Terminators! Also Tyrell Corp, Cyberdyne Systems, Weyland Corp are all related. Dallas, in a brief view of his resume, u see he worked for Tyrell Corp 😮 that's Bladerunner! Cyberdyne Systems did tech work for Tyrell Corp! And Weyland Corp did industrial and flight operations for Tyrell Corp!! Also Cameron did the sequels for alien and Terminator!!! And of course, Arnold was in predator and Terminator! And Reese, Bill Paxton and the Mexican chica both in terminator 2 and Aliens. Also lance hennrikson is the asst police chief in terminator, and bishop in, Aliens😮😮😮!!! The old white guy here is Harry Dean Stanton. Been in every movie made since the silent era!😅 This , Dillinger, outsiders, Red Dawn, Godfather 2, Green Mile, and others. Pro tip, the first death scene the director and actor didn't tell the rest of the actors, what was going to happen with the actor, Scott wanted real reactions from the other actors 😮😮😮The real horror is, when ur being taken over, u don't know it!....just like in, The Thing! And this, the thing, and Bladerunner tells u why. Models sets robotics, special effects and practical effects , are far better than CGI!!

Alien existence is simply a matter of logic. There's approximately 200 billion galaxies in the observable universe alone, each containing billions to trillions of stars, each with their own star systems. Can anyone really suggest that we are the only planet that contains life? So yes, I believe in aliens. Do I believe they have visited us? No.

Me geeking out here. It is statistically impossible that there isn't alien life. That counts as anything & everything that is or is above a single celled life form. Think about it. The question isn't has alien life come to Earth. It was is there alien life. With the number of planets in the "Goldie locks zone" of space in the Milky way galaxy alone the odds are a certainty. Now factor in every other known galaxy in the known Universe... Yeah. There is 100% alien life out there somewhere. I hope everyone is had an amazing weekend & much love to all from here in the UK

2 AWESOME movies & don't even bother watching any of the others. Alien 3 is the starting point of Hollywood destroying every franchise. Every franchise we loved from the 80's has been ruined except for Mad Max & Judge Dredd. You see what Hollywood has become. Alien 3 is where it all started going downhill. I know! I was there!
