Hi, I just want to say, and confident, that alien civilizations are more advanced than humans. We are lucky they are far far beyond. The universe is expanding faster than light.
@jamegumb7298

@@coolferds06 Some may be, but if they are very much more advanced, they are transhumans in one way or another (genetic engineering, advanced cybernetics, died off because look at our own birthrates and AI replaced them, or they found ways of not being seen and/orn manipulating matter that we cannot detect them, focused on fun and entertainment and in cyberspace, something). I suspect life is far ore abundant then we can fathom. And that _intelligent and developed_ life is extremely rare. Be as intelligent as you want to be, you need to also have a way of conveying complex ideas and abstract concepts like written language and maths, have a way to manipulate your environment as in opposable thumbs, need that environment to be conducive to chemical reactions because fire pretty important, a way to live in a group and cooperate, a way to dominate so it needs to be a predator in some ways. Which would be bad if they found us. The octopus is pretty damn smart, they can think ahead, plan, open childproof locks easily. They never discovered fire, let alone nuclear warheads, no way to explain things, underwater and no cooperation. Chimps are pretty smart, go to war, can communicate somewhat, can do fire and learned machetes even. But they have no clue about the potential a sustainable muon source has for cold fusion.

Why? This is just fear of ourselves. People like Columbus weren't science people. They were land gathering tyrants. I believe extraterrestrials with interstellar crossing technology could be way more peacefull than us. Consider they may not have a need for conquering behavior due to their technology. Don't forget: we are the ape's with A-bombs with the lack of time to develop the spiritual wisdom to our technology.

The interesting thing is when you start to think about genetic intelligence quotients. Genetically, humans are only about 1% more intelligent than apes. With this in mind, you'd have to wonder if our intelligence would even register as intelligence to them. If an ET species was to be 5% genetically more intelligent than us, they would probably look at us about the same way we look at a fish's intelligence.

@harryt5021 think about in relative terms.... to most of the animals on our planet, the concept of using tools, like a chimpanzee using a stick to get termites out a mound, is a concept unfathomably advanced. To us, that registers as little more than being kind of interesting and maybe even cute. To a species that has mastered interstellar travel, possibly gotten to the point of harnessing the energy of entire solar systems or even galaxies, us being able to land people on our own moon or send out satellites would be rudimentary at best. Given the scale of what is possible within, and our understanding of, the universe, it would be extremely arrogant to think that what we view as intelligence would be seen as anything more than extremely primitive.

@harryt5021 you're completely missing the point.... it's RELATIVE to the beings accessing the intelligence. To pretty much every other creature on the planet, apes are extremely intelligent. To us, they're extremely primitive. To a species 1 million years more advanced than us, at best we would be looked at as having potential. Quite possibly we would be looked at as too primitive to interfere with currently. At worst be looked at as so insignificant it wouldn't matter if they wiped us out to take the planet's resources, the same way we act towords a lot of the life on our planet.

I enjoyed watching and listening to this. You mentioned a world like zoo, could you imagine if we are in fact that very zoo. They could be the Big Brother from a very distant place just watching our behaviours, achievements like some kind of planetary experiment. Maybe we are the aliens and our goals are to escape their zoo and make it home. Maybe we have already escaped through time travel and our distant relatives one day return with answers we all want. If I was watching earth from my space pad today watching the wars, the needless deaths, corruption on a world scale I'd be thinking "No, they're not ready yet,best just leave them to figure this out for a while longer". It would probably take an Alien invasion or global sightings to shock us humans into realising there's more to life than wars, oil and profit. I can only live in hope that this idea isn't just a far far away dream.

Why would a type one civilization use radio waves----- inefficient communication means for long distance. Wouldn't light wave communications in the infrared be better because dust would be less obtrusive at infrared frequencies. That is why they built the Webb Infrared Telescope. To see further into deep space through, and beyond dust clouds in space. Therefore, since we haven't invented subspace communications like depicted on Star Trek, we could use infrared Laser beams.

I saw the United States Government's Antigravity on August 30th 2023 at 9:10pm on Indiana highway 446. The craft was 40 feet above me moving west to east and it had a slight rotation northward. It is a triangle shaped craft with lights in the corners and center with navigation lights red and green with strobe lights. It is a smooth edges with access panels highlighted similar to the new stealth bomber. It is painted gray with a lighter color accenting the access panels highlighted. it was steady in it's movement like it was sliding down hill with no noise. When it moved by I didn't hear any noise from the craft from inside of my car and it didn't shake a leaf of the trees as it skimmed over themit had the same color and type of paint job that the United States Government's airplanes use. The access panels highlighted with gray as the main color. The access panels were in the stealth style of technology that the United States Government used on known programs. It had the required red and green lights used in aircrafts flying in the sky. It was a huge craft triangle shaped and flat. It was too flat to have enough lift by heated gas or any other gases to keep it floating around. It didn't have conventional thrust moving it forward because it was skimming the trees and it didn't shake a leaf. It was traveling west to east with a slight rotation northward without changing direction and the front end of the craft didn't have a cutting edge on the front of it. It was constant on it's edge being rounded and slightly concaved on the bottom. It was only 40 feet above my vehicle and I felt no air wash from the massive craft above me... It was a totally solid panel craft and with the amount of weight it was it would have required a lot to keep it aloft it's motion and speed would indicate it was not a blimp or conventional thrust. It's shape would not be a conventional air plane or blimp. I was 40 feet away from it... I got a good look at it

How much raw material would be needed to create a Dyson Sphere (bigger than a star!? 😮) and how long could that potentially take to construct?
@manhunter3429

A race that could build a Dyson Sphere like the one in the TOS episode Relics would take tens of thousands of years. Why do I say this. The object is 240,000,000 miles in diameter and something that big would require tearing down every planet and moon in the solar system and then others in other reaches of space. When you consider that the space between the stars in our galaxy is 4 to 5 light years on average. Even at the speed of light it would take 6 to 10 years to move material from one star to the earth or whatever star the sphere would be built. According to what we know nothing that contain mass can travel faster than the speed of light. And ships large enough to move trillion tons of material between the stars would probably travel slower than the speed of light. The walls of the sphere would have to be many hundred of miles thick to hold it structural shape. To me the best way to build a Dsphere would to find a way to make huge slabs of metal that divide like cells in a living organism. A huge slab of material hundreds of miles square and they are replicating on a tremendous scale Huge nanobites like mechanisms .

If you can easily cross the universe in a vehicle, you are so advanced that humans appear to be ants or roaches when comparing those aliens to man! I hope no one finds my ship.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
