A FUN little story, BUT it fails to explain how the "super advanced" Human civilization had only "Just recently" (only a solar cycle ago) achieved FTL travel. THAT should have happened CENTURIES previously, given the state of their own advanced Technology. That was the question that first entered my mind (and persisted throughout the story) as he was shown the warp engine and indeed was never answered by the humans OR in the Inspector's report to the council. How could they have advance so far and not developed FTL much sooner? The author needs to explain that. Best by having a human explain it to the inspector. The answer could make an important point in the story, the reader was looking for.
