My first thought when space station and the "new planet" it's around, sounds like Alien Isolation before Amanda Ripley shows up, how Sevastopol Station went to Hell in an "Egg Basket"

Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever be lucky enough to see Alien Isolation ever be mentioned/used in any official capacity on the big screen, but we can dream 😮‍💨

Unfortunately, I like many others are students of recent history and there have been many examples of moments just like this one right here and now. High hopes, positive speculations, bare minimum expectations of following even just the most broad lore blueprint that's been laid out for decades, and then the show or movie releases...........smfh.........So many lives needlessly lost, never to return. And all because of the sheer incompetence and narcissism of a very select few, but we are creatures of habit you see (Human beings), and we have something deep down inside of every single one of us. I don't know if you could call it the soul or maybe even a tiny little checklist that's on an atomic scale in size which dictates how you act and react in the many situations you come across in life. I lost my train of thought like 2 minutes ago honestly and am kinda just, pressing buttons on this contraption here. I don't really know what you want from me? But

Ridley had that chance, and spunked over $200m into his two ego trip movies that pissed all over his own legacy. Genuinely surprised it's been given another chance. Ridley being behind this project doesn't fill me with any hope, and from these leaks it sounds like it completely retcon's Alien and leans more into Ridleys Covenant origin arc with David. There is nothing left to explore in this franchise, and at this point they've destroyed whatever mystery, horror and fear HR Giger's creation ever had. Just kill it now.

A hint to the fans who adored the game, man this game was the only game to terrify me specially on Nightmare Mode ( reads that difficulty level the first time playing and went Oh Please Easy Mode is a nightmare enough for me 😭😂)

The director Fede Alvarez is known for relying on practical effects almost exclusively. So I would be shocked if it isn't mostly a practical xeno in the majority of the film

@_JackNapier, TLDR: I wonder if the Romulus and Remus names of the space station, and even the Renaissance space station name itself is somehow connected to David and Walter and David’s plan to create a new galactic empire of alien conquerers, such as Romulus did with Rome. Probably not, but who knows, that could be interesting for those that don’t mind the prequels and David narrative but awful for fans who hate David and prequels. Your comment about Walter and David made me realize something I haven’t seen mentioned or discussed anywhere yet about the new Romulus movie. In a way the movie characters David and Walter kind of resemble the mythical figures Romulus and Remus in a round about way, the two brothers who founded the new Roman empire, and who were connected to fierce beasts being raised by wolves, and who ended up fighting each other with one brother killing the other over the disruption of social order and creating and controlling a new world order. David the older brother synthetic killed his younger newer brother synthetic Walter for the chance to play god and create and control a new galactic empire, a Renaissance so to speak full of legions of vicious alien beasts. One idea that came to mind for the new film Romulus is that the Renaissance Space Station is somehow connected to David, either directly or indirectly. While traveling on the Covenant ship he could’ve encountered and overtook the space station by force to use for further alien breeding experiments, naming it Renaissance for his plan to create a new galactic order alien takeover, and the Romulus module part is sanctioned for genetic research experiments and the Remus module is sanctioned for human lab rat facehugging murder experiments on the weaker humans and androids. Or instead of David himself doing this or overseeing these operations on the station, Weyland Yutani people named the station and are doing this, having aligned with David’s interest in the xenomorph and creation of a Renaissance of superior scientific bioweapons and biotech power over the rest of the galaxy. Final related thought: there’s an Ash Android said to be in this movie too (ironically using AI to create new images of the now deceased actor Ian Holmes) and it’ll be interesting to see how that character fits into the story and plays out with the presence of the other even newer synthetic android character etc too. I wonder if there will be another fight between “brothers” so to speak and any sibling rivalry between humans, which could be a big part of the conflict. Who knows if it will be great or not, but it looks promising and exciting to me anyway, really cant wait to see it! And that concludes my excessively long and unnecessary rambling comment for the day, thank you for reading

Yeah when he started off the vid with v scooper summarizing the new movie, "Scavenger team finds abandoned ship looking to steal equipment, aliens and facehuggers, guns and space station" I was like "so it's Alien and Aliens 😂 again. Why don't they use any of the tens to hundreds of comics out there for something different?"

Earth wars with the return of Ripley, Hicks, and newt, retconning how alien 3 happened and how they got the Ripley and xeno queen sample in alien 4, would be the best outcome, Sigourney Weaver is one of my favorite actors/actresss of all time so I'm happy to see her in anything

@@aquietsojourner4683 It’s funny because that’s basically the plot for the unused William Gibson Alien 3 screenplay. It’s still a good story though; Dark Horse turned it into a graphic novel and audiobook. Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen reprise their roles as Hicks and Bishop, respectively, in the audiobook, so that’s pretty cool!

Seems like they are just stealing ideas from video games now though. The abandoned space station thing has already been done in the Aliens franchise a few times already in video game form with Alien: Isolation, Aliens: Fireteam Elite and a little bit with Aliens: Dark Descent.

Basically the xenomorph is on the ship because scientists captured them after the original films event's, put the grown ones in cryotubes and extracted the black goos cells from their dna which is the connection to covenant, in hoped they can re engineer the goo to heal disease then all hell breaks loose.

Didn't he say NEW weapons and tech in the video? I guess it begs the question, what does new mean? Something we haven't seen before, or something that's new in the story's timeline? If the latter, then M41s and smartguns would be new tech for them, but old and already seen by viewers. I wouldn't hold my breathe hoping to see a return to these weapons and tech. Hollywood have a veritable treasure trove of great novels and storylines at their finger tips already written, but they seem to always want to go with something they'd prefer to write afresh. And it's never as good as existing material...

If they do unfortunately follow Covenant I'd like an explanation of how a ship full of Alien eggs ended up on LV426 seeing as how David apparently invented them after killing the engineer race. So how is there an engineer piloting said ship with eggs created after the extinction of his species?, also, given the time lines, how on earth can said engineer be fossilised?, that takes an incredibly long time!. Ridley has lost it, so dumb.

David did not create the Xenomorph. He made his own version from the information he got.

The alien could only be ''alien'' in the first movie. Now we know the monster, it is less scary and mysterious. There is only two paths after 1979. They go more scifi like prometheus and covenant which i prefer, or more action like Aliens.

Same hate the prequels. Ruined the enigma of the Alien.

Covenant and prometheus were great. If it retcons them, then Disney would have ruined another franchise. Its the reason I'm NOT looking forward to the series.

From the new leaks I'll write this. After the events of the original film, the scientists captured the alien and grew them in cryotubes, this is because the scientists are extracting the black goo from their dna in hopes to cure disease which is the connection to covenant and prometheus, but because this film is set just after 1979 we see the ash/Ian Holm android model with ai filling in for his voice which is the connection to the original films.

Fuck the prequels

A lot of people enjoyed Alien Covenant as a stand alone movie. What people have a problem with is how the whole movie is just one giant plothole for the entire Alien franchise. Ridley Scott has clearly lost his mind when it comes to writing Alien lore, which is why I'm glad he hasn't been directly involved with Alien: Romulus. He's just the producer and is finally letting someone else take the reigns when it comes to writing and directing. Personally, I wish James Cameron would come back to the franchise because to this very day, I don't think anyone has done a better job with the Aliens franchise than he did when he wrote and directed Aliens.

The perfect way to fix the franchise would be to ignore the prequels.
