I've been using it everyday for the past two weeks and I gained a really good grasp on this monitor's pros and cons. Great video dude! I was seriously considering this specific monitor and you're one of the few who've actually covered it. The cons part of your video has helped me decide not to get it. I don't want outdated specs within a 12 months of purchasing this. Thank you for helping me make my mind up!

Great...so now we don't only upgrade our smartphones every year, we have to upgrade our monitors too...this is the game of this industry. I have a 1660ti that I can push to 1440p and ordered this monitor because a. It will be bigger than my current 27 ips running @60hz; and b. I ain't upgrading my graphics anytime soon, so what's the point of waiting if it's on sale and it will help being paired up with my g-sync card. Great Review!

Excellent review. Really good point about the input detecting. My LG detected automatically but my Samsung 49 required manual switching which was such a chore!

Great review. I have the blade 15 too, but what GPU do you have and how many frames can you push at that resolution?

Thanks so much for watching and for your awesome feedback! I have the 2070 Max Q in mine. I can do around 60-70 FPS when I used the full resolution, but it improved to almost 100 when I used a lower one.

Yea it’s a lot of pixels to push for sure at full resolution! I play Call of duty Warzone and Black ops mostly at the moment

Great Review. I have a similar use case as you, as I use my monitors for both work and play and it can be annoying having to change inputs whenever I switch from my work laptop to pc. I play some competitive games, but mostly just casual gaming with friends and immersive single player games like Cyberpunk and Read Dead Redemption 2. I am hoping to somehow get a 3080 sometime in the near future (upgrade from a 2060 super) so that I can play at 1440 and 4k resolutions. since you said you returned your monitor, do you have any suggestions for a high resolution monitor that is good for gaming and working?

Right now on the market I really like the Alienware AW2721D and the LG 27GN950. But! Very soon some new 4K monitors are coming out and they look amazing. Specifically the LG 27GP950 and the ASUS ROG PG32UQ, they will be 4K for work and editing with at least 144Hz and HDMI 2.1 for next gen consoles. So I think once these monitors are out you won’t have to make any compromises.

Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a solid monitor to play Cyberpunk 2077 on. I've got an older Samsung 34" Ultrawide that's capped at 60 Hz and I'd really like something that I can push with my new Ryzen 5800X and RTX3070. I'm currently trying to decide between this and the LG 34GP83A-B 34. And, I'll admit, I do kind of like the lighting on the back and bottom as well. :) Thanks again for the review

i have the 38" version and awaiting for a 4th replacement. First had a stuck pixel in the middle and the other 2 have vary distracting backlit bleed in corners. I've read on forums that it is very common and sometimes dell support is trying to convince you that it is normal for ips panel, but i have an alienware 34" 1080 ULTRAWIDE from 2016 and it's absolutely fine, even afler all these years no backlit bleed, no panel glow. So not sure why it was possible to manufacture and deliver an ips panel with no bleed and glow 5 years ago and is not now. I'll be ordering replacements untill i get a unit which will perform on par with my older one glow/bleed wise considering that i payed 1200 GBP (1,658.64USD) for it.

Yes, I have the Dell MSA20 arm that fits right into it because it’s made by Dell and you don’t need a mount plate. I never tried the 38 inch but I think because it has newer ports and screen technology the 38 inch is better if you can get it.

So my wife went hook this up to my pc as I’m at work . Maybe she’s missing it but the only display port cable she is seeing is a mini which can’t be hooked to my 3080 . Did you get a full DP cable other than the mini in box ?

Hey, numbers will vary from screen to screen even of the same model. You can use the profile from Rtings as a reference, you can find the profile in their review of the Aw3420Dw! Hope this helps.

For competitive gaming, as in your first priority is a Higher refresh rate then yes the G7 wins. But if you want an ultra wide aspect ratio then the Alienware.

I agree with everything you said, except for the HDMI 1.4. To me, this is not a monitor for consoles anyways. Consoles will never support ultrawide. Other than that, great review!

Yes I would! Although I think Alienware has better design and build quality, the LG monitor has newer ports, a faster display and HDR

If you have work and personal computers, you should get a KVM. It would make switching your display input and peripherals very easy.

Xbox doesn’t support ultrawide aspects as far as I know. So you’ll see black bars on the sides

A good monitor but not for the price. The most I'd pay for this would be in the $800 range.

Lol league only goes to 144hz you cant go pass that an the difference between 1 ms an 2 is almost unnoticeable. If your getting the full 120hz with the 1.4 admi your almost perfect 👍
