Absolutely true, Alienware models are incredibly expensive outside the US. Even the UK wasn't spared. Here in my country the flagship laptop with maxed out specs costs around $5700 including Alienware's tax+Customs+Local taxes. Whereas somehow ROG and Acer offer laptop rates, say, at a $600 to $700 more than the US. Not to mention you can't choose any upgrades for yourself which is the main selling point of Dell and Lenovo.

Everything is cheap in US, I dont get it :( In my country X16 is about $5500 for 4080 and Razer 16 is $6999 for 4080 which is more expensive than MSI Titan GT 77 4090 around $6800. Asus Scar 16 for 4090 is only $4900. Usually in my country Taiwan products r a little bit cheaper compare to other products from other countires.

@@JohnWick-pr2be scar 18 with 4090 costs about $4400 here in my country. Although ROG made us extremely disappointed, they never launched the 4080 for the Strix G18 and G16. Only the US seems to have the 4080 and maybe some more regions which I don't know. Plus Razer is a scam imo, thank god they didn't launch any of their products this year here.

No MiniLED and soldered RAM unfortunately but I could compromise on that by getting the QHD+ 240 Hz 100% DCI-P3 panel - if the brightness level wouldn't be that underwhelming... For batterylife I think the test might be a bit messed up. So that would be OK I think, especially on the AMD Version with the 7940HS. Great options for the keyboard as well: For Alienware Laptops I like the membrane switches more because after trying the cherry mx low profiles I find them to have way to high initial force and after that the resitance is completly gone. Don't like that force curve at all ^^ But for a "regular" keyboard + "regular" display it's just too expensive right now. 13800HX would've been nice aswell but performance is still very good. I like the raised display, the design and the cooling solution is great, too. it is larger at the back but the chassis is

While the written review fails to state the relevant noise values for Balanced, the Furmark noise samples in this video review are overwhelmingly good. I would buy this notebook (and put a label on the Alien head) if a) the video did not come 2 months after my desktop purchase, b) Alienware prices in Germany equalled those in the USA after currency conversion and tax, c) a German mechanical keyboard was available now 3 months after launch, d) the motherboard would not be inverted inhibiting easy fan cleaning and e) Dell fixed the system control software before (instead of after) my desktop purchase. As long as Dell creates planned obsolesence and treats non-US endconsumers the most terribly, I do not buy Dell products. --robert jasiek

Mine required a new keyboard right out of the box. Dell sent out a tech to fix it. He was running the hardware diagnostics, and it said everything was fine. Start running a benchmark and the system was running at 30% of its performance and getting random power usage and fps spikes. The tech didn't know why. I noticed he left the laptop unplugged during diagnostic. Told him to boot again and run the diagnostic while plugged in. Fixed everything and ran fine after.

They "feel" actually quite similar. Both have pretty extensive IO option, the Legion is smaller but thicker, and the Alienware needs a bit more space on your desk. The Legion has the faster CPU on its side, but apart from that I would say performance should be on par. Lenovo's Vantage app is a bit more stable and streamlined than Alienware's commend center, but therefore the latter gives you much more customization options. The Legions display is brighter but limited to sRGB ... So, well, tough one :D

I Just picked up This exact variation of the X16(2Tb instead of 1 in this review) and it is insane! It mainly came down to X16 Or the 2023 Razer Blade 16. The deciding factor towards X16 came due to 1: Once I read reviews of Razer's After purchase support VS Alienware's 2 day onsite support. and 2: Razers OLED screen panel, and the common OLED burn-in issue. I couldn't imagine getting pixal burn in on a laptop after 2-3 years of computing usage. Plus, I was already fixed on pairing my future laptop with a monitor anyway, and you can always go with an OLED monitor once the prices become more reasonable. After ONE month of usage with this X16, I can tell you this much. Thermals on this has been the best I've used on a laptop while pushing games on Max settings. Dell seemed to have wisely paired this laptop with the i9 13900HK Variation since its showing to be efficient on this laptop, while preventing it from overheating like other laptops which are paired with the i9 13900HX as your seeing in other laptop reviews. Also GO WITH THE 32Gb of RAM, you'll thank me later. it is clocked on a stock speed of 6000Mhz. It is integrated yes, But it is super fast. Its not the amount of RAM which makes a computer fast, but its speed. and very few laptops in the market currently offer 6000Mhz stock on a laptop. Overall, after having to refund few other gaming laptops (Like Asus Strix Scar once I noticed its common LED bleed issue with its Mini LED Panel), I'm so glad I can stop refunding laptops, can settle on this, and can start importing data from my Legion 5i Pro. Bonus: My main resolution of gaming for tests have been 1440p. You can push this X16 real hard on 2K settings. It is NOT Ideal for 4K.

Our production time per video is not endless, so we have to be careful how we allocate our ressources! :)

A display that can’t even reach 300 nits, coupled with an inverted motherboard, makes for a bad deal I’m afraid. Especially when you could just get the m15 r7 AMD for £1398 with a 3070 Ti.

It is not a scam since it is sold by the main page of alienware usa. I already bought it and it arrives on August 2.

I made the purchase a couple of hours ago and I was charged 1400 dollars, I'm checking now and the price changed, hopefully they won't cancel my purchase

Speaking from a point of view of an Alienware Fanboi and user of X17r1, Area 51m r1, M15r2. I say NAH, quite disappointed honestly. Soldered ram in a Flagship gaming laptop in 2023? Thin ok a little bit but not extremely thin and Light? Not even close. Even a midrange gaming laptop like the Legion 5pro 2023 have an i9 13900hx which much much faster while being much much much cheaper than this "Most premium gaming laptop". The GPU is ok, doing its job similar to other brand that cost less with the same configuration. The design is NOPE, look how they massacred my boi! The probably most beautiful design even on the x15/17 series had been changed into this ugly gray metal blend with white color scheme that make absolutely no sense from an user eyes, they also remove the rgb alienware logo power button. The build quality is the only thing that still top notch which is expected at this price point, also the speaker is surprisingly good, better not having those weird issues like on the X17 in which the speaker making weird noises and sound in some particular song and situation. Overall, a 4 out of 10 for this overpriced fanboi machine. Better get razer at this price if you want the true most premium gaming laptop, but i doubt they have fixed the battery bloat issue, really fcking hate that because I had a Blade pro 17 2020 with max configuration after only one month of using, the two batteries in it bloated which cost me around 150$ to replace them.

@@NotebookcheckReviews fair. I bought a laptop recently and an Alienware model was almost perfect, but I just can’t imagine bringing that with me to class. These things to me always just seem like they are made to be transported from living space to living space but not really go much farther.

It looks ridiculous. I wouldn't bring it to work or to a cafe, and who buys a laptop just to keep it at home, rather than a PC?

I switch places very often inside of the house and garden + I don't like big chunky PCs. Also I see no problem taking it to a cafe or elsewere, especially after covering the alien head.

It actually works quite well in practice apart from things you have tu use a lot like harddrives and stuff. I guess it’s a question of how much more you value a clean desk over easy access.

Its a great laptop but absolutely ridiculous for that price. Much better options with far less down sides like the screen, CPU and battery for half the price. Ridiculous

I would not go that far to be honest. It should be better, that much is true. But the major problem is brightness, so I would not quite classify it as awful.

What an absolute waste of a video! This is NOT A REVIEW, this is a shameless SPONSORSHIP. No data, no information on numbers and values. Just the BARE MINIMUM. Show me TEMPS, Db values, CPU and GPU BENCHMARKING on a variety of programs and games, THE DAMN SCREEN, BATTERY DATA and at what performance level, AND A LOT MORE!
