Interestingly, I just saw a documentary on Yazoo, and they mentioned in the end, how we never got to see where the band would have gone, and how they would have developed onstage. Look at Alison and what a great front person she is here in the new video. There was a shyness before, but now, she is all in, holding nothing back, in terms of dancing and having fun. Wow!!! I hope we get several more albums, and tours from the band. Still, I would love to see them tour with DM.
@graham37325 ай бұрын
It's always amazed me that they Depeche mode Alison moyapet didn't do anything together or tour together. I know they knew each other and was friendly because for a short time they all drank in my local. My sister and her boyfriend knew them. I think she had some record company problems, creative control sort of thing. I'm sure she suffered with agoraphobia for a bit too. I think she a fantastic artist who will pop in and out when it suits her and when she totally satisfied with any material.
@jaeeproductions5 ай бұрын
@3732: Vanity by Depeche Mode, was likely the issue - specifically involving Dave Gahan and Martin Gore. They can be real divas. Worse, Gahan can be horribly passive aggressive - and he carries grudges. That led to Alan Wilder leaving. They told him that he was not a real member of the group - but rather, he was only a paid employee; so he left. He was rewriting and rearranging all of Martin's songs and producing them. The full band was rarely in studio during this process. Instead, they were out partying and dating...as Alan stayed in-studio producing. He rarely got credit. As a result, he asked them for proper credit and pay...and they refused him that. Andy was nothing but a business manager for the group. Andy knew the numbers and contracts. He wasn't even playing live onstage, yet he was getting an equal cut of the profits simply because he was a founding member of the band??? According to reports, after Alan left...Andy would rub it in...via media interviews - taunting Alan. Alan was the only real musician in the group. The rest of them openly admitted it, frequently. As per the original band, Vince Clarke regarded them as baggage. He didn't need them anymore, due to his getting ahold of a sequencer - so he left. Abandoned - Dave, Martin, and Andy felt betrayed. They thought that the band was dead, as Vince was their lead writer. He wrote all of their hits on the 1st album. I believe that they regarded Alison Moyet as a part of said betrayal, at least...in their minds. As per Vince Clark, given Dave's demonstrated diva behaviors...he (Vince) likely wanted out. Vince is a quiet and shy guy, who doesn't like drama. The truth is, Vince's music (absent the band) towered over Depeche Mode. Yazoo blew away Depeche Mode at every level. Depeche Mode didn't manage to turn things around for another 2 albums. The song "Get the Balance Right" was their answer to Vince Clarke - and next, "Everything Counts (in Large Amounts)". Further, they were only able to compete with Clarke with their 4th album - "Some Great Reward". That was the big breakthrough.
@graham37325 ай бұрын
@@jaeeproductions wow, I never new that. Thanks for that. I've always wondered if there was something going on between the 2 bands or they just never had the right material.

Absolutely amazing. She looks like she feels energetic, healthy - youthful. I've heard her say that she was upset that people pay so much attention to how she looks. But if you look that good at 50, you can't be that upset about it. Flaunt it if you got it. She just looks so freaking happy and fresh. Sounds awesome too. No other singer like her.
