This girl broke my heart. I always rooted for her. Perhaps one of the finest ladies skaters we've ever had. If she'd had the mental strength, she could have ruled US skating after MK left. But, without the mental strength... sigh.

She’s from my town, her dad worked with one of my closest friends for years, she has a lovely supportive family and she’s an extremely kind girl, very shy but very very intelligent and empathic. The music is George Winston and he plays here a lot too!! Oh, and Scott Hamilton is from here too!

Her 3toe combination was so beautiful with the music. Everything is just so gorgeous. This was my favorite program from her. Just breathtaking. This was the first of the Greensboro nationals and one of the reasons why that city is so magical for the US Figure Skating Championships.

She’s an amazing figure skater. I’m so happy she did an outstanding job I wished I had the chance to see it while my mom was alive. A heartfelt congratulations, to Alissa Czisny!

She didn’t look nervous at all, and certainly happened to be confident with her ability to complete a flawless performance. I’m completely amazed at her difficult jumps to which she executed perfectly! Wow. What a true comeback kid who is also completely unstoppable!!! Yahoo, Alissa!!!! I’m so glad I saw it on video!

The last truly magical one imo. I'll have to admit I've missed a few over the past 11 years - Mariah Bell did a great job last year - but from what I've seen nothing has topped this.

I loved watching Alissa Czisny skate. I only wish that she found this confidence earlier In her career. By this point, I believe that she was 23 years old (maybe 24?) and had missed making the Olympic Team twice despite high expectations for her. If she did this 4 years earlier, time might not have taken such a physical toll on her body and we would have seen a totally different skater. The sport NEEDS someone with her style and elegance today.

gorgeousss and this piece of music is SO hard to interpret because it's really quiet and not much happens, so it's tricky to figure where to place jumps, footwork, spins, etc and as she generally does, she produces yet another stunning alissa program. hope she goes to sochi because she is SO great!

@anne91276: Actually, that's what Carolina Kostner did last season to win. Alissa is always aiming to achieve an artistic masterpiece, which includes the more difficult jumps.

I would have love to see Alissa Czisny do her fabulous russian split jumps and to not do the other jumps that would demand consistency from her. She would have had scored higher have she done the jumps that were easier for her to execute. During her practice, she would work on the difficult jumps that seem to give her the most trouble. Of course she is still one of the best figure skater ever.

She’s now married to Kurt Browning who is more than twice her age. Yikes.
@KateCarew11 ай бұрын
No. She’s 36, he is 56. She’s from my town, my best friend worked with her dad for years. She’s always been extremely mature and I don’t find it odd that two people who dedicated their lives to exactly the same thing ended up married. She’s no idiot, and she comes from a lovely and supportive family. Her dad worked his butt off to pay for her lessons, they all sacrificed so much, they aren’t rich, she wasn’t spoiled or out of touch. She’s worked hard her whole life and I have no doubt she and her husband relate without major issues.

I am in awe by Alissa's spins, don't get me wrong, but I just don't like her arm positions on her camel and layback. It's like she just doesn't quite get all the way into her positions...but still! I love her grace, and personality!

You're not the only one! I love just about everything in her skating but her Y spin and setup to the Biellman drive me crazy. In her Y spin she tries so hard to point her toe that she doesn't fully extend her knee and breaks the line. And in her catch foot before Biellmann her free arm is just jetting straight out awkwardly. 2 quirky things that I've always noticed, lol

@nycgtl882 жыл бұрын
Not as bad as the Russians in take off and ride out. Remember judging system allows a quarter turn for grading but pre rotations and under rotation being scored high is a whole level of nonsense in figure skating nowadays. At least Technique was demanded in this era, many skaters had ice dance tests too for edges and moves in the field. Now it’s just jumping beans and no interpretation
