I started shaving at age 11. Kids in high school thought I was a narc when I’d have a 5 o’clock shadow in third period. I quit shaving at 23. I’m 34 now, and my wife’s only seen my clean shaven face twice in the last 7 years. As far as the itch goes, the trick is to not shave, but just trim it back with some electric clippers…not to the skin. Maybe 1 or 2 millimeters, but definitely not clean shaven. The itch will go away. Also, not being a wimp helps.

I had a 9 month growth, looked identical to yours (mustache and all) and I was forced to trim it this morning for a job interview. My beard has always been my signature, and men and women alike compliment it out in public a few times per week. It's a point of pride. I make my own beard oil and keep it well manicured and presentable. It's a majestic thing and I take full advantage of the blessing of being able to have a beard just like yours. I did get the job, the interview went swimmingly! I'm in the trades, so i'll be growing it right back out as I realized they didn't mind. Just... first impressions, ya never know.

This is just my personal advice, but don’t do that sort of thing for a job interview. The likely effect is to reduce your confidence, which makes it seem like you aren’t sure you can do the job. Fortunately that apparently didn’t happen to you.

As a bearded man. I will say if you choose to grow your beard out wear it with pride and take care of it . If you take care of it and have confidence in who you are and are a respectful man and a good man you will get endless compliments on it. The beard doesn't make the man but it is a exclamation point on him. My Dad was a self sufficient bearded man and I had many bearded men in my family that were good men. So as a kid I aways said one day I'll be a man and have my own beard. Be you 💯 and you will be your best because of it. My wife did not prefer my beard long at first but as she seen me take pride in it and the care I put in it she has come around and loves it now. So you do you and make your mark in the world brothers.

one thing ive learned in the last years: cigars and beards - NOT for the impatient man! as for the arthur morgan guy: its from a video game western named red dead redemption 2, its easily the best videogame ever made. hyperrealistic, and it makes you experience the downfall of an outlaw gang in the late days of the wild west. arthur is one of em, and very depending on how you play, overall, he gets the big redemption epiphany from being a violent man of crime to a man of some honor and kindness and good values who realizes theres just more to life and then meets a very very poignant end. and you just sport that beard, and you have that tone of voice arthur has.

The Lost Boys didn't have the close relationship, where they could ask their Dad questions. Maybe they didn't know him at all. Maybe alchohol or drugs or something else, had become more important to the father. It happens across all walks of life these days. You even see it with the super rich. The men today, desperately need men like you. To instruct us, remind us, repremand etc. Thank you.

When I was living up in North Dakota last year, folks would recognize and remember me by my beard, which is black and not all that common of a natural beard color up in NoDak. I’d get mistaken for an actor or athlete whenever I’d go to the honky tonk. One night, I told a gal my name and she couldn’t remember it, so she went on to call me “lumberjack” from that night on. All in all, my beard carries cultural significance in addition to it being a part of my identity. It serves a purpose in my line of work, protecting me from the elements: from snow and subzero temps in NoDak to trail dust and the scorching Arizona sun. I’m proud of what I’ve got and what I can grow. It was good to see you shed light on this topic, Dewayne.

This video is hilarious. I got the notification for it while I was shaving, which I haven't done in about a month and a half. The best advice I can give is let it grow and experiment. A super long beard isn't for everyone. I had it, it was a lot of maintenance and felt dirty alot of the time and quite frankly didn't look that good on me. I keep it just a bit shorter than aquaman now and that's the only way I like it.

I would love to see a comeback of hats as well! My grandfather always wore a white Stetson "open road" hat. He also wore a black eye patch which put him in a distinguishing class all his own. A man among men!

I really like your show, Thank you. That's a very nice beard that you have. And very good advice too (beard and other topics too). I wore a beard from the time I could grow one.. but I'm in my early sixties now, and do to some health issues I had to start some medications that made it start to fall out/get patchy.. I was very bummed out when that happened. At its peak it was fourteen inches long (zz top like), but once it got patchy, thin and straw like I had to start trimming it way back, and now it's almost non existent.. I miss it bad. I always took pride in it and wore it well. And Yes, some women loved it.. sometimes women I didn't even know would ask me if they could feel it, and sometimes I would let them lol. Thanks again. Keep growing 🌞

I watch your channel a lot because your campfire philosophy aligns with my own. I don't have an active channel at all, but if I did, I would want it to relay much of the same information and life skills that your own does. GREAT job, sir! I think the advice you give is much needed among men in our Nation. I'm a 61-year-old male out of the Arkansas Ozarks, retired from a lifetime of uniforms (Army, Air Force & career Law Enforcement) who also smokes a pipe. Since retirement 10 years ago, I have worn and enjoyed a beard anywhere from a "heavy goatee" to a full beard that looks very similar to yours for this past year. Your philosophy and life lessons resonate loudly among us all. God bless you and "Mama" and may your channel find even more success as you ride down the trail of life.

This video got me thinking about my perception of my life and also how people perceive me in which for the longest time I thought I didn't care but my mother and dad bluntly told me one day, "I know you're going to not like this but.... you truly do care about what people think about you." and the more time passes on, I realize they are correct. Now the catch point...: I've worn different outfits throughout the years and styles and the ones that make me feel more respectable and I get compliments the most is when I wear my country clothes..... like you wear in your videos. The problem is..... I do not live a country lifestyle and after about a year of gathering more items to complete my cowboy "look", I just truly felt fake but I do love the outfit... always have since I was a young'yen. What you said in this video reminded me of things I've heard off and on since I stopped wearing the cowboy outfit and what I've read online....... being a cowboy aint just about what your occupation is, it's a way of life. I've become a rude-ish, spoiled city man-boy over the years and I was NOT brought up that way. Matter in fact, I want to knock the snot out of young people who behave like that. It's a battle within myself because I know right from wrong and the 2 sides fight each other. What I'm trying to say is, I've still got some more maturing and self-awareness to do that you have spoken of in your videos that I've watched for about a year off and on now. Thank you for being an inspiring MAN to look up to!!

Having a beard or wearing a hat are personal choices not subject to other's control. I spent time in the military so I was told there what I was going to do, however when I enlisted I agreed to the rules as far as personal choices in many things. So enjoy your freedom to choose while you have it. Best Wishes to You and Your Family.

When COVID came and everything shut down, including church, I decided it was time to grow my first (and only) beard. I had been self conscious about growing a beard and I’m susceptible to skin issues because I’m fair skinned and I didn’t like the wrinkles 68 years did to my face. I’ve been blessed with good genetics and I’ve yet to be criticized about my beard plus, most of my compliments come from the ladies. Dewayne’s advice on growing a beard is spot on but mine I got from the Beardbrand channel as well as their products. Thanks Dewayne, beard on!

I wonderful chat. I want to echo and say how difficult it can be letting your beard grow out to being full. I have had a beard for a long time, but close and short in length. My wife loves my beard as well. I am now 6 months in and it has filled out. Your encouraging video is moving me to let it go 9-12 months.

Almost a year growing my grey beard. Trimmed it once by a barber and almost cut it off. I drink water all day, lots of protein and have lost over 70 lbs by not eating bad foods. All of this has helped the beard grow. About as long as you have and has taken this long to finally look good. Beard oils and butters work good, different types for different areas.

16 years old and for the last 2 or 3 years whenever I’d see hair coming on my face I’d always just trim it off right away cause I thought people would think I looked cleaner and more together if I did, I never actually wanted to really. But about a month ago I just decided to let it grow because I wanted to do what I truly wanted for myself and see it as a manly look. Thanks for your wisdom on things Dewayne always making me feel more sure of everything

Don’t discount waiting. If you can grow a beard at 16 great, but sometimes the testosterone is busy doing other things at that age and it takes until your 20s for the beard to really come in.
