Learn all about Jaboticaba, a wonderful tropical fruit that is native to Brazil. The fruit’s flavor and texture is similar to a muscadine grape. Jaboticaba is commonly eaten fresh, usually without consuming the skin and seeds. It is also made into juice, jelly, marmalade and wine.
Stay tuned to our channel for videos with recipes using Jaboticaba.

Could you please talk about watering young and mature Jaboticaba trees in south Florida, thanks and keep making this great videos!!!!
@TrulyTropical
@TrulyTropical 7 жыл бұрын
It's important to use a hose or bucket to water a newly-planted Jaboticaba tree every day for the first 4-6 weeks because it takes that long to establish new roots. Jaboticabas have shallow roots, so water during dry spells. If you plant your Jaboticaba in an area where your sprinklers are keeping the grass healthy, you won't need to hand water the tree after it is established. My friend who had two large Jaboticaba trees did not have grass in his yard. He would water one tree consistently for a month while the other was not being watered. The next month he would switch to watering the other tree. It is important to note that these were old, established Jaboticaba trees.

Great explanation. I am in Miami and want to get some atypical fruit trees on my property that I can enjoy year round. You mentioned that the skin is usually not eaten. Is the skin easily removed similar to a lychee where it normally peels in two sections (removal attempts) or do you have to work at removal tediously?
@TrulyTropical
@TrulyTropical 4 жыл бұрын
The skin is like grape skin, but a little thicker. Most people put the whole fruit into their mouths and then spit out the skin and seed.
