This is all about our e collar! An e collar is a correction tool used for typically working dogs. Please be respectful of other handlers' choices! If there is a question I did not get to in the video, feel free to ask it below.

I don’t know if your camera has a hard time picking up sound or it’s because you’re a little far with a softer voice but it’s quite difficult to hear anything. You have to have the volume all the way up. Just a thought for when you’re making videos 🙂

I agree with this. And your voice is really quiet so I turn it up, but your music is loud so it blasts in my ears when it plays. :) You might want to try balancing your sound out a little more

I just recently started using the ET 300 E collar on my SD(iT) and I absolutely love it! It has made our communication with one another even better.

I feel you on the difficulties of raising a puppy! I got my first dog ever in January and he was 10 weeks old and I am owner training him as an SD and he was SUCH a nightmare. He was super high energy, super rambunctious, and very very difficult to deal with. I got a pro trainer and at about 5 months I started using the e collar and it also changed my life! Thanks for sharing. My dog is now almost 7 months old and still has issues with heeling, especially when on walks in the neighborhood, but we are working on it.

Thank you so much for showing me how to use the e collar. I learned more from you than from some of the other professional trainers because your video was very easy to see what you were doing nothing was blurry or fuzzy and you said it and a way that I could understand.

I feel the same way, I didn’t know what to do with my pup. My dog didn’t even know the word “No” she would jump on the table,steal our food, and everything, we didn’t even really have a close bond, I only liked when she was sleep, now we love each other and I need her everywhere ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭

Thank you so much for this video. I got this after your video. I cant use the vibration, cause it freaks my doodle out. But, we use the beep and the stimulation, and it is such a good tool. My boy was a horrible puller no matter what I did. I did positive training with the treats even gave ham, and chicken. We used a head collar, and nothing worked. With the beeps, he almost immediately changed. It saves him at dog parks when other dogs mount, it keeps him coming back, with the low-level stim I've been able to train him to keep his attention on me at the dog park with other dogs coming up to him. He is at a constant 15, sometimes max 55 (he has pretty thick fur and this is only with a rabbit distraction.) My boy came to me a year and a half old (we rehomed him from someone who would only walk him once a week max, and he had no training at all.) Now he can walk with his harness on in an almost perfect heel now, he can do his task, he can do so much more than before it, and he barely needs it now, and it's just on as a safety measure, and its mostly for the park, and during off-leash hikes. He has learned so many things in just 9 months and he only really started turning around after this. I had tried for four of those months with very little progress on the pulling and distractibility out of the apartment. I put it all thanks to you for this video. Thank you so much for all of your videos.

The way you described Wesley as a puppy is exactly how my SDiT Bradley is...He's also an F1 Mini Goldendoodle & he really doesn't understand the concept of no, chews his vest and tags etc. It's so frustrating. He's 3.5 months right now and I'm hoping getting this E-Collar and learning to use it correctly will help me to solve a lot of his issues so he won't wash, thanks very much!

Thank you for this video. I have bought the mini educator for my SDiT and will start training with it in about a month. Rebel is 5 months right now and knows most commands but walking on leash is his least successful in distracting areas. I was nervous about the e-collar for a long time but after studying responsible use of it, I understood how to use it properly. Thank you for promoting the proper use of the ecollar!!!

See my previous reply as it takes 2 years of training for sd for basic stuff. Leash walking is the hardest so don't force it. See kikopup.

Ana Larson, Please don't spam us! It can take UP TO 2 years to train a Service Dog depending on the tasks needed. I have a mentor and it is NOT kikopup. Get a grip!

Oh- I am very sorry you could believe that of me, I have a very good grip on the methods in learning and training, this is not spam, but genuine concern for good solid training that is helpful to a service team, and most SD teams take 3 years, the first 2 are basic training the 3rd is specialized to the specific needs of the disabled, I know I have been disabled and worked with lots of folks with special needs for a variety of reasons in finding positive methods to improve their lives. As for dealing with dogs, I have decades of experience teaching humans and working with dogs, from puppies to senior rescue dogs. I am not kikopup, I can refer you to several others like Pam's Dog Academy and Zak George, they use positive reinforcement and the Premack principle. These folks give lots of free advice and I hate to see it when someone with a service dog gets advice that will not solve the underlying problem and will never let the sd team know what they could actually use to their advantage. One's inabilities can become their greatest ability if it is explored and embraced, not forced. Their safety and lives depend on it. E-collars force training no matter how well intended, a good trainer will quickly get an sd team off of that tool if they find they have been using it. Just ask yourself would you want to educated that way? If you were trained that way you have my condolences. It is a poor tool to use to want to develop a relationship with, watch Ted Talks on how they taught all sorts of dogs to joyfully do an MRI test on their brains, it is amazing all with clicker training. Positive methods have worked on animals of giant magnitudes and I have experienced it without fear, it is amazing the relationship developed over that time. We also all have to come to terms that a puppy needs to just be a puppy and many dogs do not work out for SD work no matter how great the work and training or how well intended. Prayers to all involved and many blessings to better things.

My SD trainer explained the e- collar as our communication tool, which I think is especially important during PA when you’re not able to use a whole ton of leash pressure or verbal cues to guide your dog

Air travelers: are e-collars allowed to be transported? I don’t need one for my service dog during the flight, but I will be at my destinations for a month, and will want to have access to it. Thanks!

Hi firstly i just want to say how cute your pup is and how nice it is to see a service dog owner that is pro ecollar and pro prong you dont see to many of those. Also do you think you could do a video on how you got him to respond to it. Like how did you teach him that the shock means he is suppose to heel? Do you only use in for heel or do you use it when ever he needs that extra correction? I hope that made sense. Like did your trainer have him on a leash and then once he got to far away he would tap and pull him close until he got the message or would he just tap until he stopped walking so far a head? I really hope my questions made sense its so hard to convey a big question over messages.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. I will try my best to include that in another video! Wesley always wears his e collar and we use it whenever he needs a correction - it is our equivalent of "no, don't do that." When teaching heel, Wes was on a leash but my trainer and I would not pull him, he figured out by himself that he needed to be next to us to shut off the corrections.

So your dog saves your life on daily bases and you use that on him. Thats just pure evil have you not heard of positively.com/ training methods. If I saw you using that on your service dog in the uk I would take the dog off you. After all your dog does for you, you choose to treat him cruelly. Put the thing on your own neck and see how you like it.

i have that exact e collar and you normally use it under level 10 and i put it on level 25 and it did not hurt at all so can you do your research its an E COLLAR not a SHOCK COLLAR shock collars are very different things so do your god damn research or try one yourself before you bitch about stuff you have no idea about i have tried it on my neck and my wrist i also tried a shock collar just to see how different they are and the shock collar AT A LEVEL 2 made me twitch and hurt never use shock collars use e collars as your last item to try for training it can save lives when my service dog in training named kitchi almost ran into the road because of a squirrel i pressed the button and he came back it should never hurt

yes what a good idea to take her service dog , who 'saves her life on a daily basis' away from her. as she stated, positively training does not work well for her and her dog. she is using the collar responsibly

Purely positive isn’t working on my dog, she fucking bit me for a treat, she had 12 behavioral problems and I felt like I had to do something, now she is the best dog ever.
