I used to ride RDC on the Maryland commuter rail (MARC system) between Baltimore and Union Station in Washington, DC. It took a long time for the train to get up to speed. There was no frills. The train crews were contract CSX. Their uniforms still had the the B&O Railroad buttons on then.

Very informative video! In Oregon, we're lucky to have 2 in service on the WES commuter rail. I've seen them before, but never ridden them.

I didn't know a thing about these. When Budd and GM got together to build one I didn't know how it turned out. The video gives me some info that I didn't have before. I am a big GM fan and had just recently dug up some trivia online.

You gotta love a guy with this much enthusiasm for what he loves. Can't wait to get a couple of these going around my layout, going to retire my mediocre Proto RDCs

Neat to know where the sound for my Rapido C&O RDC came from. Thanks!

Had these Bud Cars in Sault Ste Marie ON that ran to Sudbury ontario. Good memories, I lived on the tracks and saw them daily.

Excellent video. Please consider an n scale version. the SP would be awsome. I know Kato Amat made these in n, but your attention to detail is over the top!

The DD 110 engine when idling sounds a bit like the DD 8V71 series engines. The 8V71 was used in motor coaches like MCI's and Prevost's

My cousin worked for the Budd Co. in Philadelphia, as did his dad. I'm sure one of them had a hand in the building of them.

Thanks for the information about the RDC. I have a request from your Company. I know the extensive line of your products are in HO gage. The O gage users have no RDC product to purchase. Have you considered going into the O gage field specifically the RDC product. I realize the additional cost involved but why not survey the model train industry and see if a market might exist for an O gage RDC.
@andreiter
I would love to purchase one of your Budds and help your restoration process, but I don't see any available for sale on your website.

I would really like an RDC in N Scale, the Kato ones never made it into Via Rail or the handsome CN red and grey or the CP red
