When I was a lad in the 50s nearly every bike had a sidecar, rider had a pudding basin helmet, goggles and gabardine mac, his missus in the side car wearing a head scarf. Nice to see this bike, love to see more of them ..... nostalgic old fool that I am.

Always remember, back in the seventies, there was a bike dealer in Salisbury who sold all makes, including Ural. As I recall the model then was the Cossack. Enduring design and durability. 👍

I have a 2002 BMW GS 1150 A with a Ural sidecar. It’s a great combination, and I’ve ridden it to Chile and Argentina from Kentucky, USA. I lived on this bike for almost three years in S.A.

UDF = Ural Delay Factor = additional time added to trip time, to allow for random passers-by to chat about the Ural. We have two.

Had a 1975 cossack solo 650 in the early 80's.. They are fabulous torquey bikes, and never had a single problem with mine. Every mile was a smile, and i would dearly love to own one again.

Glad to see you out and about and making videos again. The Ural is a tough bike they just jug along mile after mile.

In the new Urals, the exhaust pipe is now raised high, this is a good solution, especially for those who travel on impassable roads and cross shallow ponds. The manufacturer must solve this problem so that the motorcycle can overcome shallow rivers, where, for example, an ATV can pass. This decision on the exhaust pipe is only one of the correct ones, the main thing is that the generator, spark plugs, should also be outside the limits of vulnerability from the side of water.

The spare tire fits all 3 locations again, even with the Brembos. I was surprised to hear him say that it didn’t, but I don’t know that year Ural. I’m riding a 2016 Gear Up Ambassador, and I have this conversation with folks every time I stop to fuel up! 😂 It’s called the UDF (URAL Delay Factor.) 😎

rust me, I bought a brand-new Ural 650 while working in Inverness. It came with a sidecar full of spares, enough to build a new engine. Mind you it was a few years back, but total cost was 400 pounds. Low compression and foot or hand gear change. I actually 'bump' started a three ton lorry by towing it. Can praise it enough. Great, great bike. Get one, you won't be sorry.

Also the only left sidecar/right hand drive example i've seen, wondering if these left hand sidecar models aslo come with the optional 2wd and all the unique Ural features seen on the right hand sidecar versions? I had one of these back in the 70,s tough old bike too. Pushed a broken down Bedford from behind just nudging front tyre to the rear of the bumper, the guys face said it all when we pulled away, we managed to hear him say " cheers mate".

The price for this bike and the information sounds like you get a lot more then the cost. Like to have a set of those knee shields for my bike. Like how the bike has stayed the same and simple all these years. Why change what works well.

Love the Ural knowledge and history and love the bikes but the word "reliable" doesn't belong anywhere in his description...

Motor is not all German, but a lot of the internals are Swedish, Austrian, German and so on...just like everything else...I have 3, damned things are addictive. My avatar has +100K and is my preferred bike...and yes, one of mine has a BMW engine...it's dangerous...

A year from now, st least 12k miles, then talk to us.

I had 2 Urals and they are not the same as the original ones. and the engine is not the same as the BMW take a closer look at them side by side, they may be a copy but not exactly the same. He is wright about them lasting, but only with a lot of upkeep, and if you get a newer one you can not fix a lot of it on the side of the road like the old ones they have gone to fuel injection and had a lot of trouble with it for the first year and may be longer. They are a great bike and a lot of fun to ride and if there was a dealer near me I would have another one. But this guy is way one sided, take what he said with a grain of salt. And unless they can prove to me that they have improved the fuel injection I would not buy one unless close to a dealer. It never let me down but had to get remapped a lot and also had a lot of trouble with the breaks over heating, but they should have that fixed by now, The old ones never had trouble setting up the side car brake but the one I had it was a never solved, but that was when they first came out with disk breaks on all wheels. I think Ural is trying to up date a lot on these bikes but are making changes to fast and never enough testing before they hit the market with there new parts. And again I would love to have one but not unless close to a dealer, and they need more dealer ships in Canada. They should team up with Royal Enficle bough fun bikes but not enough dealers, It might be hard to get enough sails from one of these but it they went together there would have a much better chance of making it. Wake up Ural and get some dealer ships opened up hear in Canada. There is a lot of people looking for side car rigs that work but don't want to have to take a 2 day trip to get to a dealer ship.

uh, the motor on his rig is not the same as the 30's , 40's. They were not reliable at all. This engine will last a while if you don't cruise over 55 mph. Understand that is what the Ural was designed for. With the 2019 version, Many upgrades but still 65 mph cruising, if you want the motor to last a long time.

The guy said he heard they were reliable... Everything i'm watching/reading is saying they are one of THE most unreliable? :P
