I just came from listening to the soundtrack to 'Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies', and I know that the only thing the two stories have in common is the Greasers and Socs, but thinking about Cherry talking to Ponyboy in the book about how the Socs are brought up to be too sophisticated and cool to ever display any emotion so that she'll talk to her friends about beer blasts just to have something to say because she doesn't know how to talk to them about anything else made me think of Susan's solo from episode 6 of 'The Pink Ladies': "Little girl with the perfect smile Learned how to talk, how to walk every extra mile, Little girl with the perfect painted skin Learned to just only apologise again I never got a chance to decide What I did, what I was, was idealised If I ever crossed a dotted line, It was shamed, it was tamed and it was criticised.
