It's amazing how scary professional soldiers are when you aren't a space wizard with magical plot armor.

It was really cool to see how formidable the empire really is. These dudes weren't just cannon fodder, they actually won most of their battles.

Death troopers are great. Between the fact that they're trained elites who are a genuine threat, and that incredibly cool voice scrambler, they have to be one of the coolest units in star wars.

Death Troopers from Rogue One have been the only group of soldiers in all of Star Wars that felt as though they were really special forces soldiers

Death Troopers were used pretty good in rogue one, usually any sort of trooper is not done justice in the movies but for the most part these guys were showcased pretty good and not entirely wasted

Death Troopers were portrayed well in this film, decimating the rebels SPECFORCES, the most elite of rebel forces, on the Scarif beaches. They only died because Chirrut was being protected by the force and Baze basically had an anti tank blaster with a backpack power cell. Then in rebels they got clapped by an 18 year old, a traitor and an old guy with a pistol. They were portrayed best in the comics imo.

Rogue one's cinematography has a serious tone in it. I love it so much

That whole "im one with the force and the force is with me" scene is exactly why the stormtroopers dont ever hit shit. I think even lucas has confirmed the force gives them a little invisible bubble that isnt 100% protective.

Fun fact: there are actually 2 kinds of death troopers: the standard, which uses the e-11d, and the specialist: ones with the extra vest and shoulder paldroun, they use the dlt-19d

Its interesting how even though you would think Krennic is just some armchair officer who isn't cut out for any meaningful combat assignment, when attacks popped up around him he was really quick to take charge and get defenses going.

Love how Krennic sits besides the Death troopers like if they were equals. Definitely Krennic was a badass always getting his hands dirty and participating in battles and he almost killed Andor!!! He was far more respectable, competent and intelligent than Tarkin.

As perfect as this movie was. I wish that more movies would have the bad guys portrayed as normal people that actually believed in what they were doing was right. Krennic in this scene is an example of over the top evil. Like how he portrays himself, he talks as if he knows his words are bullshit.

Is this the first time Death Troopers are featured in a star wars movie? They are seriously bad ass!

Not even a big Star Wars enthusiast but I loved Rogue One as a stand-alone movie. Legit the first Star Wars flick I’ve seen that actually FELT LIKE AN ACTUAL WAR MOVIE. Refreshing to see combatants on par with each other without the presence of unstoppable Demi-gods running around with OP lightsabers tearing through defensive lines (well until the last minute or so lol).

I love that this movie doesnt have alot of plot armour. Like I mean alot of good people get killed, even the main characters in the end.

The opening to Rogue One is one of my favourite moments in film. Rogue One is not a perfect movie but so many aspects of the filmmaking fit my personal preferences perfecty.

Death Troopers : Stormtroopers that actually aim for their targets

Would be nice if they could do something more impressive than shooting fleeing targets in the back or lasting a full ten seconds against the protagonist. Have a moment where the heroes ambush a convoy, include a Mandalorian or two even, stormtroopers cut down like wheat, yet another overwhelming victory what’s left of the Empire is clearly no threat, if it ever was. When suddenly, BOOM! A Death Trooper manages to turn the tide and take out the attackers, single precision shots, make the audience go “Holy crap! Where was THIS the past ten years?” I’m basically describing the Bullseye debut moment from Daredevil Season 3, but seriously, if Star Wars is going to go the distance of making a brand new trooper they should get to be considered an actual threat.

What makes the Death Troopers scary is that compare to Storm Troopers that were used to flush out their enemies into traps or targets, Death Troopers were used for lethal countermeasures under orders.

The cinematography, the tone, the story, character depth, not one of the things this movie had were present in the sequels. This and Solo are the only good SW movies in recent years, and really good at that imo

I remember at the time this film was released the talk about how it was the first major Star Wars film to not feature Jedi and how it seemed like such an alien concept. They did such an incredible job with this film.

Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie to me. The script writing, dialouge, acting, and the sheer emotion in it are all unmatched in Star Wars.

When you upgrade your Storm Trooper by giving them a nice armor set, more height and little more time in at the range. Would rather have Shadow Troopers tbh.

I think the death troopers were made to fight powerful enemies that arent jedi or even the rebels at all. It's possible they were sent fight the criminal underworld of the galaxy like syndicates, cartels, pirates, gangs and possibly even opposing dark side cults especially those who are lesser sith or pseudo sith like the knights of Ren for example. My best guess they were train to fight off mandalorians should they join the rebels for their cause. This is just thought, much like the inquisitors were trained to become jedi hunters exclusively. I think the empire has very specific measures against any and all threats, say like the death star was made to scare the yuzhon vong away from the galaxy.
