would be nice if the lines were semitransparent and built up to white. The glare in the centre would be less then and make more pattern

maybe a gradient from one end to the other would help "untangle" the mess that the middle becomes

I did this once. Took a rather reasonable curve and ran through all the angles it could have had. There's more than a few others that are really amazing. Like some of the curves you run through hit other fractals that you wouldn't have considered simply with a different angle. It's pretty interesting as far as such things go. That said, the title is misleading there are more fractals dragons than just HH and clearly at other angles it's not a dragon. So this isn't all dragon curves, just all angles of the HH dragon curve.

The curve is made by, as you says, hooking on an exactly copy of the current curve, but rotated 90 degrees. Here is the algorithm that I wrote in matlab: d = [0 1]; % initiation for k = 1:18, d = [d fliplr(d)*exp(-1j*a)]; % a: folding angle end c = cumsum(d); % convert to complex coordinates Only three lines of (operative) code! (Coordinates located as complex numbers in the vector c). By letting a go from 0 to 2pi, the folding angle is increased.

It would be interesting to see this with the angle set at 90, but the proportions of the fold changing.
@TazPessle
@TazPessle 4 жыл бұрын
I think that would just scale the image along one axis, or scale it smaller towards the middle or edges, depending on how you implement the rule.

My only complaint about your music is that it doesn't just go on for hours on end, I fall asleep to your music. If you go on to make an album, which I sincerely hope you do, please make the songs last longer. I could never tire of listening to such beautiful music.

You need to extend this by using different folding schemes. For example, if the paper is folded in 3 parts, in a "Z fold", the curve becomes interesting for a 120 degree angle. If the paper is folded into 3 parts, in a "U fold", the curve becomes interesting when the angle is 60 degrees.

Ummm I don't understand. Isnt U fold the 180 Deg in the video and the Z fold just another angle?

Allen Walker why exactly no? there's an algorithm to calculate the nth turn of hilbert's curve, and then all you have to do is turn a turtle that direction by some number of degrees and move forward.

presumably, the animation is done via the corresponding Lindenmayer- or L-system? If you like those, you might want to check out other L-systems. There are some really amazing ones out there. Nice work! :)
