I CAN’T STAND THIS! There is this one song we are playing right now where there are 16 measures where the flute’s don’t play and everyone who plays is struggling.

In 7th grade my band actually had a moment in one of our pieces where the entire woodwind section had to click our keys to emulate the sound of rain and it honestly sounded really cool. I wish I could remember the name of that piece but it was great.

there's this piece called "con brio" by Jörg Widmann where the wind section blows on their instruments and uses tapping the keys for a ~ modern ~ sound feel

whenever my band director is addressing another section, the clarinets do this and so do i. (i play oboe) but the problem is, the use air and just don’t make a note sound. it’s annoying because you just hear air coming out from everyone at different times

When I was bored in class I figured out there's a small part of the timpani that gets stretched out so you can tap the bottom and it kinda sounds like this but more of a sticky finger sound 😂
