I am showing some girls how to longboard and they didn't think many girls longboarded. As a guy I had to show them that girl longboards exist in large numbers. So without previewing this video i showed it to them. Lol long story short there are two more female skaters in this world. Kudos to Maryhill and Push Culture!!!

I can't believe this. Really!!! Most events are all guys! And the only reason there was this one for girls only was to encourage there participation in an event with more of a level playing field. It's intimidating when ever you show up to an event and you're the slowest or least experienced person there. This gave them an opportunity to do what guys get the opportunity to do at every event - skate with similarly skilled riders. And for the record the entire industry was behind this 100%

There are plenty of events with all guys. Maybe one or two girls. So organizing an event to get those one or two girls from each event gets you a large amount all at once.

I don't know about you, but where I live there aren't whole lot of chick skaters. Chicks are a minority in skating, so it's a big deal to get a lot together. A bunch of dudes skating together is just a regular skate sesh haha.

whether it came off wrong or not. this is true... if there was a guys only event, there would be some complaints. dont think so? try it out, im pretty sure you're going to be proven wrong. but whatever... double standards for genders all the time for both girls and guys. we just gotta live with it
