Ever since Yvonne measured the height of the horses at Stal G (a few years ago), and I saw that the tallest and most like Uniek (body-wise) was Jacobien; I hoped and prayed that Yvonne would choose HER to work with and to train in Dressage; if for no other reason than Jacobien reminded her of Uniek. (as she does me) Others may remember that Jacobien required extra training before she could earn her Ster Predicate, because her coordination was off, due to her body build and lack of control. I was worried, for a minute, that she wouldn't make it through Inspection, and that she would be sold. I celebrated like crazy when Jacobien earned her Ster, but by then it seemed like Yvonne was favoring Geertje and giving her a lot of attention. I was certain that Yvonne would be riding and training Geertje all of the time at Stal G. I practically jumped for joy when I saw the very first video of Yvonne riding Jacobien in the Indoor Arena! Now, here she is, confident enough to ride Jacobien on the road and in the grass! I couldn't be happier!!! Goedzo & Braf to Yvonne & Jacobien! I hope that this means that Yvonne WILL train Jacobien for Dressage Competitions. I'd love to see her follow Reintje in Sport! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!, Yvonne! You've made my day!!!🙂🙂🙂 👁💙Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!

Jz is an excellent horsewoman and wears the right clothes! I totally respect her right not to be on social media, i teach young children and many parents have wised up to the trappings of online activity. Yvonne herself has shown her strength of courage by sharing not only her horses but her journey since her fall, good and bad and this is not always met with kindness - i love being part of the herd.

If you ask those here who know me they will agree. I am an emotional mush. I react with my heart first. Watching todays video was no different. Seeing Yvonne ride Jacobien was a thing of beauty. She sits a horse with such confidence and grace. Jacobien was completely calm. Her head and neck in that lovely arched and strong position the entire ride. It seems as though she is saying “I know you’ve got this Yvonne.” And then Yvonne writes on the screen she was a bit scared because of the accident and the tears flowed. I felt an overwhelming wave of emotion watching Yvonne, knowing what she has experienced but not letting it stop her from doing what she loves most. ❤ Yvonne atop a big black Friesian horse cantering through the grass smiling and laughing. How could one not be moved by that?

you did great..i could feel a tension in you as you ride. I remember when I took a fall and broke my arm and shoulder it took me about a year to finally be comfy outside on my back porch but I made it ok but every once in a while I can feel the ptsd creep in but I have to push it to the back of my mind. Big hugs and continued prayers for you and Risey.

I agree. Jacobien is a bit more baroque than the other girls, like there is more robustness to her than other horses, like Uniek. Jacobien is my favorite besides Uniek.

Jacobein seems to love this excursion. Please explain about Jacobean not having shoes and not riding in pavement. What a difference in gait between Geertje and Jacobein. Geertje has a powerful gait and Jacobein is softer. 😍😍😍

ooohhh! Geertje and Jacobien, two of my favorite mares! Geertje is a big tall lady! Jacobien isn't exactly small either. You look so good riding them! What a lovely hack, and Ginny was looking very fine in front of the cart too! Everything went very well, thankfully. Yvonne, you are very brave. I have PTSD from being hit by a car on my road bike...I feel high stress now when in traffic. It takes courage to get out there. Good for you!!!! 😁😍🥰

It amazes me how small the ‘roads’ are!! I thought it was a bike/horse trail…then I see cars!!! The roads here in Texas are very large. Most of our roads are at least 3-6 of your roads going in one direction, and same going the opposite direction. The roads in neighborhoods are meant for one car going opposite direction but are at least three of your roads in width. Highways are huge in comparison. Just never expected to see a car on that road😊 You look comfortable on the seat Yvonne. Wouldn’t know you were nervous. How does her stride feel? Looks like a fun little cruise around there! Pretty countryside❤

A little too unsteady for me personally, like she couldn't quite relax her muscles. She is young, so with age she might find her balance and not move her head up and down so much. Don't get me wrong though, when she does have her head carried well, with her nose in front of the vertical / at the vertical, it's very pretty.

Jacobien is still a favorite of mine, I think she has grown into a stunning mare. Thank you for sharing your ride with us. I think it is nice that the drivers of mechanical vehicles are considerate of the horse riders for the most part.

As I recall, Oda was camera shy at first, too. But once she agreed to be on camera, I also have found that her enthusiastic smile always makes me smile, as well. JZ - you do you, of course - that is, by far, the most important thing. But know that a happy, enthusiastic rider on these beautiful horses, is an inspiration and uplift for all of us fans of the Frisian horses, as well as fans of Stal G and Stal H.

Yvonne, I am so impressed by your bravery. I took a fall from horseback (my injuries were not nearly as severe as yours) and I never could regain my confidence. I'm so glad that you can still do what you love and do not let fear keep you from it.

My aunt had been a lifelong horse lover but she was thrown off by her Arabian and nearly lost her leg. She kept a couple of horses for many years but never rode again. Yvonne does very well!!!
