As a therapist, this is the best statement I’ve heard Joe share. You have to find a good counselor that works for you and it’s an ongoing process to work on self.

Idk if you’ve watched Joe a lot. But do you ever feel like Joe weaponizes all this self care/therapy stuff to justify his fuckery?

@@Classikh Yes. I've said for a while now that Joe has done all this therapy to learn how he is SUPPOSED to behave and to be able to mimic the behaviors of a decent individual. Therapy has been his personal lesson to figure out how to construct his "mask", put on the right "sheep clothing", go through the proper motions, and hide in plain sight. For someone with such an extensive background in therapeutic situations, I've seen far too many times him behave in a manner that can be absolutely detrimental to someone else's mental health and for the most part, people who have truly done the work on themselves try to avoid inflicting that type of damage on others. Slip ups and mistakes happen of course. But after following Joe for many years, I hit a point where I no longer looked at these grievances as "mistakes"...and more so like, "Uh oh! His mask slipped off!"

@@Classikh you only come to that conclusion because you have a predisposed view of joe. How come he can’t be just working on himself? It’s his timetable not yours. Like people don’t come to conclusions on your timeline it’s theirs. How come we can’t just accept people for who they are? Lol we take everything as a personal attack ..part of what he said is ..men have issues actually expressing themselves… if you have issues we are supposed to be able to talk if we are friends. Every slight that you feel can’t be final warning

Noah was a good example, but referencing that would've thrown off the flow of the conversation. There's adding to the convo, then there's shoehorning. I appreciate Bigga's overall agenda, but you can't shoehorn your personal interest into every convo and expect it to be productive. There's a time and place for everything, including something as all encompassing as religion/spirituality.

They always think they are right since they are literally telling people right and wrong and how to live daily life. Thats alot of power. I grew up in a Christian household. Love my fam to death. But I could have better "real talk" convos in the barbershop than at home b/c my fam would always change the subject and speak on the Bible in every situation. Thank you so much Mr. Joe. Therapy helps the majority of the time. Reason for that statement: My eldest brother went to a therapist that his take from it was that he did not have to be in contact with his family. If they hurt you, you do not have to deal with them, but family hurts family, sometime. It's not out of the norm, but hurt affects people in different ways. Grudges are unhealthy & dangerous. Resentment is toxic.

At one point in time you was considered crazy to think that you can put electricity, plumbing inside of every house. You have to be a little crazy to think that you’re going to build a contraption that will fly through the air. So I understand every successful person was once called crazy. Imagine what was said when Muggsy Bogues and Spud Webb told people they were going to the league one day. You can’t tell me people didn’t laugh and think they were crazy! I don't any longer use the word "crazy", or the term mental illness. We use the word and term too loosely and mainly out of ignorance. I did my homework on MENTAL WELLNESS, issues; EVERYONE born UNIQUELY MADE. At some point all hit that paradigm whereas we NEED to tap into our GENIUS-SELF and a GENIUS therapist can help us manifest winning endgames. Not to mention PRIVACY & SECRECY IS BAR NONE. A few people who have therapists or have seen a therapist: Snoop Dog, Nas, Jay Z, CTG, Common, Prodigy, Flocka, Michael B. Jordan, Sinqua Walls, Big Sean, Marlon Wayans, Jim Carey, Prince Harry, Judge Toler, Demi-Lovato, Gayle King, Taraji P. Henson, Jennifer Lewis, Halle Berry, Kerry Washington, Kelly Roland…

We label things as crazy bc it’s either never seen or heard of or it doesn’t align with one’s beliefs or ideologies… so to one person it could be plausible to the other it could be impossible.

You’re not wrong, but they were talking about innovators who were considered crazy for wanting to do something that had never been done before. They thought Noah was crazy because he was hearing voices tell him that the world was about to end. Biblical references don’t always apply.

@@ZURIRecords5517 true, and Noah was right in that story. But like Math said, everybody wasn't making and selling Arcs after that. They wanted to stay on the topic of business and innovation in recent history

It's very interesting hearing Black Men in general talk about therapy. And even though Joe Budden does not recommend it. He at least acknowledges how it's helping him.

I wouldn’t listen to Joe. If it’s helping him, why he not recommend it to others? Finding a therapist that’s for you and conducive to your growth is worth it - you’ll find that out during the first initial consultation, they work with you and not just going along to pacify you. Some people want a therapist to go along with their bullshit.
