You know coffie dog responded to someone's comment and told them that you can't get all the version exclusives in regular gameplay and only by hacking the game. Also in the comment that he made he saud that he hacked to get all the items that you can't get in regular gameplay.

To clarify, it technically is possible to get most version exclusive items in regular gameplay but it is very difficult. You can do it through the Pedometer Walks, you'll be given a random gift depending on how many steps you take and among the higher tiers are version exclusive clothes. But it requires a lot of steps and even then since it's random you might get something you already have so it's a gamble. It is also possible to get version exclusive items/clothes by connecting with other version players through StreetPass and "trading" items (but there is a limit to how often you can trade, I think only once a day or so).

I got a green Japanese print collar from the Golden Retriever version in my Toy Poodle version. I used pedometer for that so it is possible.

I wish I had my ds I’m here in 2021 I broke it beacuse I had to use a pen for the styles and the ink went in my ds and it didn’t work so I just threw it away I might get a new one this year I still have my games I got them in 2020 Nintendogs for ever it’s really fun but I really want a ds 😔

Sorry I don't! :( So what happens exactly, you select the file to open it and nothing happens or does it give an error message? It might be an issue with the save editor program itself, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

I got all the items through hacking, the entire process took me about a couple hours. I have the Toy Poodle & Friends version. I probably won't make a video showing my puppies but I have posted pictures and bios of them in the Nintendogs amino.

The AR cards are not used to find items as far as I'm aware. There are lists online of what items can be found on Pedometer walks so you can check them if you're wondering about specific items. And yes, when the game was released Nintendo would occasionally send out presents to players through Spot Pass. Included were a few version exclusive toys and clothes.

CoffieDog so there is no other way than the hack to get mario or kirby hats for example? If I do the hack too, can I subsequently swap these hats with my other versions with streetpass? and would that involve a risk?

At this point, yes, hacking is the only way to get those items now (I think they were exclusively given out as Spot Pass presents around the time the game was released). Hacking in itself always involves a small risk of things going wrong. But once you do it there should be no issue with trading the new items through Street Pass. BUT not all items are able to be set as a Street Pass present (most clothes aren't actually including the Mario and Kirby hats sadly) so those would not be able to be traded to your other games unfortunately.

I did make a detailed written guide on how to download/install the hacking software, link to it can be found in the description. I thought about making a video but it would be too much work lol

The items/treats don't appear in the shop, they were only added to my personal inventory after I hacked the game.

No, it'll still work either way, it won't make a difference whether you have the game downloaded or the physical game cart.

I think the Shiba Inu is only unlocked at a certain number of Owner/Trainer/Heart Points (varies depending on what game version you have). You'll have to Google to find out when it unlocks for your specific game version. This applies to both N+C and the original Nintendogs. I think the only version where you need the Japanese Print Collar to unlock it is in the original Nintendogs Dalmatian Version.

You can get them at bark shop on walks once you get to the point in game.

Sort of, you can choose from a limited selection of items in your inventory to set as a Street Pass gift. So when you connect to another user through Street Pass you can "swap" gifts. However you're only allowed to do this once a day I believe.

I don't think it's possible, but I'm not 100% sure. I think they were exclusive Spot Pass presents, perhaps only given out in Asia? I haven't seen any player in North America or Europe with them at least. I think Nintendo forgot to release them to us lol

Yes! 😂 I was amazed too when I found out! Wish they'd tell you, otherwise most wouldn't think of looking at the food/water description.
