Merry Christmas Don! I'm 6" 3.5.. Yeah crawling in and out of cars can be a bitch sometimes.. in fact, thats why I got a Chevy Express Van to work in. You are using my same set-up for cutting! I'm going to give you a few tips I have learned using the Dolphin/Key Tool max this last year. Please don't interpret that I think I know what I'm doing Lol 1. You can do the same machine operating with the Xhorse APP. You probably know that but it is sometimes waaaaay faster. 2. The Key Tool Max can get wonky after firmware updates. Make sure to leave it on for the rest of the day hooked to WiFi after big updates or you are going to get frustrated/pissed in the field...trust me! 3.Get in the habit of brushing off the Dolphin every time you remove a key. Your invest is more important than whether the key works or not. It will have issues if not cleaned. 4.You can scroll through the key blank reference quicker on the Keytool Max/App by selecting "all Key blanks" at the top of the screen when it shows keyblanks. Sometimes, especially with Toyotas you will need to do that. If you do get one of those thin blade Toyota emergency keys (Prius, Avalon, Camry etc) you can select Toy44 and use the shim. 5. Have you tried the Xhorse remote generation etc? It's pretty slick! I've done a few (all Chrysler and Chevy) but do need some more work with it. Would love to see a video of your Lishi skills? I'm working on that now..I suck.

It's been a rock solid setup so far. I was having to pass on a lot of "all lost" calls. I saw a lot of haters for the xhorse, but on paper it made sense, but it's more than paying for itself.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Hi, how is best way to get the key code for all key lost or do you have a video how to remove the ignition switch ?
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 2 жыл бұрын
Happy new year!. I generally use a Lishi pick/decoder to pick then decode the lock if it's not a current customer's key that I have on file. Some manufacturers will put the partial key code somewhere in the vehicle, but that requires dismantling doors/dash/other areas. There are key code brokers that will pull the codes from the vin for a fee, but they usually require locksmith/business credentials...but if the ignition has been replaced it won't help. A lot of ignitions require a special release tool (or ability to make one), but then the new keys with the new ignition would still be required to be programmed and then the ignition and door keys would be different.

It's an xtool x100 pad3 and it's been pretty good so far. I am looking to get an autel 608 for more toyota functionality.

You cut the keys first before programing it? Is that your preference?
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 23 күн бұрын
It's not a preference with keyed ignitions since you have to put the new key in and turn the ignition to the on position as part of the programming. If it's a fob, just depends on the day if I cut the emergency key first or not.

Strange question Don…what kind of boots are you wearing? When I lived in Midwest and south I seen a lot of people wearing them and been wanting to get them for work boots but I never had the nerve to ask another guy the brand😂

What do you use to decode key? Dolphin?
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 2 жыл бұрын
If they have a key, yes, I use the dolphin and save the info to my customer database in case of future all lost scenario. If it's an all keys lost case, I hate to admit it but when I started and was following bad google searches and advice, I signed up for NASTF. I've since purchased several lishi and locks/ignitions from the junk yard to learn/practice on. I now go to every job with the full intention of only using the lishi with several test blanks on hand. Every once in a while now, do I fall back on NASTF either due to lack of time or skill or both...but I try to avoid that due to the cost and all the dang paperwork.

@@JenkinsLocks I want to sign up for NASTF just have it in my back pocket if needed. Do u just sign up with the 300$ a year? Or what should I do to sign up for it?
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 2 жыл бұрын
@@pouncerminned863 It's a $100 application fee and $325 Primary account fee every 2 years. You can then add sub accounts for $125 per 2 years. The price of purchasing each code depends on the manufacturer...ford is $24.95 per code, dodge/chrysler is $30, etc. As I get better with lishis I wish I wouldn't have done it as it would have been cheaper to just use a code broker for those times I have to get a code. I'm almost to the year mark of having it and have used it 3 times so total investment so far is the $425 2 year sign up plus another $100 or so for the couple of codes I had to purchase. Shoot me an email at don@jenkinslocks.com and I can give you some offline details.

i have a mustang i programmed keys for and that 10 minute security feature is a pain but that explains why fords arent as popular as the dodge counterparts in terms of auto theft. 😂😂😂
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 10 ай бұрын
It's hit or miss if the "bypass 10 min" option works. I had 1 recently that wanted 4 keys done, and it was triple digits temps.

Now that you have a cuts now, they're going to expect to have it a cheaper deal. At least over here it is because it's half the work people like one because you were smarter to take the cuts down. Now they want to discount because you didn't have to lishi it at least that's what I'm saying over here. I don't know about over there sorry not typing. I'm speaking into the mic that's why it's coming out the way it is
@JenkinsLocks
@JenkinsLocks 10 ай бұрын
Not sure I fully understand your comment. If I can quickly decode with a Lishi, that's part of the cut/program fee. There are times when I have to pull from NASTF and that cost is added to the bill.
