you'd think over a hundred years into the future, we'd have better shit than plate carriers and oakleys... just look at the change in gear from 1914 to 2014, we went from no armor, bolt action rifles and leather hats to kevlar helmets, ceramic composite armor and full auto rifles... yet in this movie +100 in and were still using the same shit

@@f.b.l.9813 Guns peaked around WW2. Battle rifles from that time can still penetrate most plate carries/Kevlar today. The problem is they lack the rate of fire of conventional AR's, which make them ill-suited for sustained suppressive fire. Firearms may be getting more advanced, but they're no better or worse at killing people than guns from 70-90 years ago.

@@rc59191 exactly. There was supposed to be a space battle (was done in the comics instead) between multiple tribes and the humans back for round two. It would have looked amazing, but seeing avatars in space suits and fighting on space shuttles would have been too much for me. Just like seeing red avatars in the third movie would be a dumb decision.

4:47 my favorite part shows he isn't completely heartless . The notion of killing the unarmed Na'vi seemed to make him at least somewhat uncomfortable. openly questioning Quaritch if they were truly going to follow through with the threat.

This actually gives me hope he will be in Avatar 3, cause we never actually see him die, he's just thrown overboard. It really bugged me how many of the Recom Avatars died in this movie, they were supposed to be these badasses but most of them just end up being Killed by Jake and Nateri. When the movie was over I was just like, oh So Quarach is the only one left, ok. I was kinda hoping for more main character deaths as well. But it could be interesting the see Lyle and Quarch talking about how most of the team died in the next movie.

The battles in this were super cartoonish. It went from being realistic to Neytiri turning into Hawkeye and the humans into Stormtroopers and I feel like that was a very personal decision on James Cameron's part judging by some of his recent interviews. Which is a shame, the idea of a spec ops team living like the natives and gathering intel/calling precision strikes would be really in character for this conflict

I heard rumours that something like that would happen in the to nuance the view and moral stance of the Na’vi. The third movie would feature a tribe that would use iron (which is forbidden by Eywa’s law) and have a bad connection with Eywa due to living in a less habitable environment with less green and animals. They’d probably take the side of the humans because they wouldn’t be treated fairly by the other Na’vi tribes, or they would feel like they don’t belong with the rest of their race.

Watched this in Imax and I gotta say the youtube quality doesn't even come close. Idk how but in the cinema everything just looked much more realistic and here it looks like almost outdated despite still being top notch CGI. Crazy

100% agree. This film MUST be seen on the big screen. I saw it multiple times in IMAX 3D and once at a regular 3D cinema. I noticed a big difference between just the IMAX and regular theater.

We don't know how many of the English dialogue we hear is actually spoken in English. Since pretty early in the movie Jake has this sequence where (probably for the sake of the viewers), he starts hearing his kids speaking Na'vi as them speaking English. It's around the time he says "don't make me come over there" and stuff.

Hear me out. Military grade compund bow or crossbow that can shoot navi arrows. I think the issue with the recom group is that they didnt have enough time to train and were just thrown in there. Maybe they get rebooted again but i think its just Miles and Lyle left.
