All new for 2024, the CVA Cascade Long Range Hunter.
The new CASCADE™ LONG RANGE HUNTER is designed for hunters seeking precision at
extended distances without compromising affordability. Borrowing features from
long-range target competition rifles, the CASCADE LRH gives hunters the added
confidence to make kill shots on big game at 300 yards and beyond. The key to this
performance is a medium-heavy barrel contour and a stock designed for stability and fit,
with a flat and wide forend and adjustable length-of-pull and comb height.

Agreed. 6.8 western is a very slept on caliber that will hopefully take off soon. I love mine

@@rickeylahey2152 I’m convinced if Hornady released it and Winchester released the 6.5 and 7 prc people would be asking what the point of the 6.5 was and why the 7 prc doesn’t get to 3 grand without a broom stick of a barrel.

@@chadperry4021 Right there is tons of hate with the 6.8. Yet what people don’t understand is that it’s perk is a short action. So you can have a lighter more compact gun that has factory ammo that outperforms 7mm rm. In my opinion 6.8 western is everything the 6.5 prc should’ve been. It has 200 more ft/lbs of energy at 500 yards with a 20+ grain heavier bullet.

@@chadperry4021 I do however own a 300 prc and it’s great but for that intermediate sized cartridge. I believe 6.8 western is the ticket.

@@rickeylahey2152 I also own the 300 prc it’s purely a long range toy for me. It’s power is in a different class than the other prc’s or the western. That’s why I left it out. It’s a whole other animal.

Great looking rifle. I'd look hard at one if they offered it in 7mm-08. Maybe later down the road?

I just looked and they do not have that, yet. Closest in recoil would be 308 but 308 rounds are better at shorter distances. But they do have it in 7 PRC. And I think the demand is going to be higher for 7 PRC than 7-08. Other companies like Ruger can afford to make 7-08 at almost a loss because everything else is selling so well.

they made their normal cascade in 7mm-08. most folks don't think 7mm-08 when they think "long range", though, even though it's objectively better than 308, but you can't NOT chamber a gun in 308 since you'd be losing a large percentage of sales.

@@mattcomchoc2957 And I almost wish I had picked a 7-08 for my first 7 mm. But the specs on the 7 PRC looked so good and that is what I got. A bit of recoil. Same bullet length as a .30-06. Moving at 3k fps, it has more recoil but I believe in using cushier recoil pads. But if someone did not have a 7, I would recommend the 7-08 to those frightened by recoil and 7 PRC to those who do not mind changing to a better recoil pad that what usually comes from the factory.
