Ne ich frage ja nur nach dem Grund. 2L 4 Zylinder ist halt standard. Bei einem Performance Auto spielt auch Gewicht eine Rolle. Und mehr Gewicht sparen als mit einem kompakt gebauten 1.5 L Alublock geht doch nicht ;)

P1TV Der Fiesta st 150 hat auch wenig gewicht mit nem 2l Duratec 4 Zylinder und der hat auch Performance und hört sich auch besser an (Muss dazu sagen das ich generell auf alte Autos stehen die neuen sind ....naja zu viel Elektornik zu viele Assistenten dir teilweise unnötig sind TEILWEISE )

Pickle Ahoy Ford has betrayed the US again. Of course the Focus did poorly in the previous numbers when it's base model has a shameful DCT which shook confidence in the brand among average consumers. KIA and other opportunistic manufacturers will end up devastating Ford by the time Ford realises that Rally, Drifting, and motorsports of all kinds are gaining popularity and the new generation wants something different from Mom and Dad's SUV or truck. I don't know where Ford found these people who are currently running the US division, but for their sake I hope they left room for rapid flexibility.

I bought the 2018 fiST (NA version) as we in USA are screwed on new fiesta and focus....worse the focus active only version we will see isnt AWD (which kind of defeats the purpose of what they say its for) and unless they give us an engine option like the ST which they aren't ford performance is finished in the u.s (besides mustang too big and bulky for me).....I'll mod my fiST and when my wife buys new in a year and a half I'll be pushing for subaru or Volkswagen as ford now offers nothing I really want well in the u.s. at least

The True you guys also get the Shelby GT350(R), and we don't. So horses for courses. 😕

Seige CJ The Mustang has always been the glory car from Ford US, which is fine, but many of us want a more practical kind of performance. There is a call for strong 4 cyl or 6 cyl sedans and hatches and the Focus, Fiesta, and Fusion are nearly all you see on the roads near me. Seriously, there are way less Chevy, Dodge, or any other domestic vehicle in that class. So an extremely popular set of platforms are getting chopped not due to consumer demand, but for profit in spite of consumer demand for the more sporty, fun and fuel efficient car platforms that they have grown to depend on and love. Now there will be no parts, no innovations, no support for the vehicles we so trustingly have purchased which makes them largely into disposable cars that are on borrowed time rather than a long term investment. And that means something to those of us still making payments on our Mk3s, which I would never have purchased had I known this was coming. That's what makes me mad anyway, I'm sure others have their own reasons.

Ben Troxell Probably you didn't studied mechanics , 4 cilynders means you a have force every 90° but you can compensate this force with another cilynder. With 3 cilinders you have it every 120° but you can't compensate it. So in long terms in theory the 3 cylinder is less reliable.

I get 50 mpg on long motorway runs & 35-36 mpg driving to work old one I got 30 mpg driving to work I think the main thing with the new one is to get in to sixth gear ASAP then start flooring it

got more power than the old one, so the power to weight is pretty close to the old model (158bhp vs 165bhp per tonne). Plus it's got a better diff and a more square stance to the road so if anything it's more agile. Even my new shape ST-Line handles as good as its predecessor

Tom Clayton yes but I feel like the engineers put in the fancy new rear curved springs to compensate for the fact that's it's a lot heavier, surely being heavier will make it feel less Darty and less agile than the predecessor, but as u said, the new suspension might make it difficult to notice the extra weight... An LSD in a car that has 200bhp is a bit unnecessary don't u not think tho

Tom Clayton ya the track width increased by like 148mm... That's a huge difference and has super sports tires!... On an ST haha ford has went all in with this new one!.... But I'm really glad that journalists have been saying that it's just as agile and as happy to get the back out on lift off as the previous gen is so I'm good!

Rejoice Rone As a MP215 owner, this new car adds nothing to me. If I want a quaife LSD I can get it installed on mine. As you said, the base weight is lighter as well.

Seige CJ ya fair enough, an LSD on the previous gen fiesta will make it even better! Also with the 3 cylinder engine and ford got so much power out of it, I worry abt the long term reliability of the engine, especially ppl buying these r going to thrash it to the red line as often as they can, and it wudnt offer much of a power upgrade from unlike the previous gen cuz it only has 3 cylinders now
