Ceramic coat and u wont have to worry so much about damaged paint etc.

Your Dad is a great guy, i enjoy a relationship very similar with mine, he taught me to e a body repair tech, a painter and a drag racer. i know you do read comments so i wanted to make a suggestion on keeping you new paint protected. if you know a good window tint installer, have them do some chip guard strips in places that will see more action than others. door jambs edges, where the front clip sits on the bottom edges, door to fender edges, rear lower quarters, etc. i did a similar treatment on a mcamis firebird and the owner said it helped those spots from chipping. it was pretty cheap, easy to pull off with a heat gun, and it stays glossy. i cant wait to see you run, that is what it was meant for even if it is slick. and please put in extra fire extinguishers in the truck and trailer, i cant stand seeing rigs going up in smoke with race cars inside.

I think Shawn's explanation of new color was spot on, new paint = new responsibilities.. old paint was more its there for a job, then looks even though its about the looks....
