*Disclaimer (when I first got this shuttle, I didn’t know all the instructions of the shuttle and tried to figure most of it out on my own, one thing not described correctly in the video is the bracket that holds the battery in… you must unscrew L shaped bracket, slide battery in, screw bracket back into place)
Special thanks to Summit Fishing Equipment, this is number 1 of 20 shuttles made so far, it is a very high quality product and they have been awesome to work with and very supportive!
This video is a guide to set up the new Hd shuttle from Summit and to showcase it, so that people can get a good look of what it looks like when the Livescope system from Garmin is mounted to it and the nuances of installing it on it.

Just so everyone knows, the battery bracket part, in the video, is wrong, you’re supposed to remove it, then slide the battery in, then screw it back down. Everything else in the video is correctly explained. Thank you for your time and tight lines 🎣 2:04

How do you hold it down on the front deck to keep it from flying out of boat?

It’s pretty heavy, I haven’t worried about it flying out of the boat. I don’t have it on my front deck either tho. I have it in the cockpit area with me.

Did the shuttle come with the quick connect power cable for charging?

The wires that are behind the faceplate when I took it off are the ones that it came with.

I have probably first gen summit shuttle (aluminum). It does not have any of the accessories mounted (light,usb, or auxiliary switches, which I have purchased). It also doesn’t have the battery tray. You talk about talking to Jason (I think that’s his name)but I cannot find anywhere how to physically call summit fishing. Could you help with that? Thanks , enjoyed the video. Wished you would have had first gen to do… no installation info from summit ie..hole sizes for each component would be nice along w/wiring specs on switch. Thks again

First of all, thanks for the watch and comment. As for Jason, he no longer works for them or with them and is coming out with his own lineup of shuttles and poles (HD Innovations) is his new company name. He said to me that the earliest his new stuff would come out would be July, so we will see. I have seen pics of the new stuff and it looks to be of great quality. As for the older Summit stuff, sorry I can’t help you with that and have heard from others of the older shuttle being a mess and not fun to deal with haha. Maybe cut your losses and get newer shuttle or wait for Jason’s new stuff 😊. Hopefully you get something figured out tho 👍🏼

Well, you shouldn’t have to wire it yourself, most of that was pre wired… it looks more intimidating than what is, in my opinion! Thanks for watching and I think you’ll love the shuttle, much more portable!

How to you charge the battery?

Plug it in, right on the front face plate, charger plugs into it.

So with the power switch on the shuttle does it shutdown everything so it doesn’t drain the battery from the black box or do you need separate switch!

You are correct on that. It kills all power from battery to the equipment.

@@brianshie2842 No problem! Mine came assembled, you can buy it pre assembled or not. It’s $20 more pre assembled, definitely worth it.

@@JMonOutdoors when I bought my it just said assembled for 219.99. So I assume it will come that way. Maybe they just send them all that way now to eliminate extra time answering questions

Perhaps I can’t see it in the video, but you chose not to use the Garmin spade terminals and those are the only ones that are fused. So you’re running that unit unprotected?

@@JMonOutdoors I mean - it works obviously but offers no protection for the wiring or electronics. I’d have done option 1 like you mentioned and nipped the terminals off of the Garmin wires and used those as needed.

@@_atw so, what could occur to make one of those fuses to go out or what what would cause the need for protection on the unit? I’m newer to all of this, I have a Humminbird Helix 7 ICE Set up and there’s no fuses or anything to unit in the wiring, so just wondering why there is a potential need for it?

@@_atw I could easily switch it in the future. I didn’t want to nip those off and would probably need connection extender cuz my positive one is fairly short.

@@JMonOutdoors example scenario- A bad or failed wall charger could send too much current to it and melt wires. The fuse will pop and break the circuit and hopefully protect the wires from melting. If no fuse, current can continue through and heat up. I’m not an electrician either but they’re cheap peace of mind.

The same kind that the other ones are. I honestly don’t know the exact size number or gauge, a buddy of mine just had some laying around at his house and gave it to me. I’m sorry about that man.
