In this video I will be showcasing the Elilee BLIZE XXE, an all new carbon road frame from a Chinese bike brand called Elilee. Elilee have invested significant time and energy into testing their frameset against a Specialized S Works SL7 and a Pinarello F, so we will dig into that data during this video. We'll also be going into their crank road offering (X-Novanta), and their carbon wheels being the X46 model. We'll be building up this bike with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 at Taylor Cycles next.

@@anders6383 A lot of wheel brands are outdated for today's standard. Teams running DT Swiss, Swiss Side, Corima, or even Zipp (a 28 tire can pump up to 30 mm on a 25 mm internal width) are running tires wider than the rims. I've just bought a wheelset (Hunt 50 Carbon Aero) and one of the requirements when looking wheels up was that the external width had to be at least 29 mm as I planned on running 28s.
@CamNicholls

Thanks for the comment. I asked Elilee AUS (distributor) about this today. They also questioned Elilee HQ about this when the wheelset was first released. You'll find 21 internal on their 58mm model but apparently weight savings were the main goal for this model I presented today, so they had to sacrifice rim width knowing this will put some customers off. Cheers

I have one of these frames. I bought it from the Australian distributor. My complete 56cm bike with pedals and computer mounts is 6.34kg. I'm building another set of wheels that will send it sub 6. It's a fantastic riding frame, so light and so stiff under power. On paper the frame weighs more than an swords SL8, but once you include the clever fittings like seatpost clamp, expander plug etc it actually comes out very comparable. It's also a bit more relaxed fit, taller at the front. A very well engineered frame

Crazy light for a complete build. Some shallower wheels with clinchers and TPU tubes plus 1x would see 5.5kg kinda range.

The internal on those wheels is ten years out of date which is going to matter when it's coupled with that stiff rear end. @@HarryTzianakisTheGodOfSpeedi have it in a 56 and it's very stiff. It's light but it doesn't have dropped seatstays and the BB area is large and takes advance of 386evo dimensions. It's not harsh, but it's plenty stiff. Not uncomfortably stiff like an S5 I had, but stiffer than a focus izalco max 9 series and a Caledonia 5. Random selection of bikes there but that's what I've ridden and owned. The finish of the carbon inside and out was very high end, thus the premium price. As far as carbon frames go I think you might find this frame a little too stiff especially when you are off the saddle. As far as sl8 and sl7 goes claiming they are very similar please don’t believe the bullshit specialized marketing via shitty youtubers ( just to be clear I am not talking about you, I am 100% sure you been influenced by their bullshit) trying to sell whatever is left of sl7 inventory. Making an ultra stiff bike isn’t hard, that was the problem carbon frames had when they first launched 20 years ago, the challenge is having it stiff where it matters and making it compliant everywhere else to have a performing bike that is still comfortable to ride. So this brand just focusing on stiffness seems to miss the mark. The wheels at 19mm internal and 26mm external also seems quite behind the times.

But why? Why would you want to invest and or promote anything made in China if you don't have to, did you not see what they have done to the Australian wine industry,, seafood industry it goes on and on. If you can't support an Australian-manufactured bike at least look at a bike built in Taiwan, brands like Colnago, Specialized, Giant, Merida, Bianchi, BMC, Cervelo, Zipp, 3T, FSA.there is no good reason for an Aussie to support anything made in China if you don't have too.

Sir, what device are you using to write this comment? Where was it made? Some things are unavoidable. Carbon Bikes are made in China, that’s just the reality of.

Bianchi? Really? They're utter dogshit bottom of the barrel chinese frames with an Italian price tag. Sponsored teams are afraid to ride them, because they keep breaking. Cervelo's QC is so bad that it spawned Hambini onto the cycling KZfaq. Zipp didn't hesitate to put all their riders in risk of serious injury or death to save a few pennies per wheel. All of that for prices that are extortionate and still going up. That's why. These companies have gotten too greedy and are cutting costs everywhere on bikes that cost as much as a brand new car.

Thanks for the feedback. I did cover off on this in detail with the Aussie Distributor. I know how people like to nitpick at these things. So perhaps it's a accent thing!

Ah here we go again, some sponsored Chinese bike contend🥱 Is it just me or does this video just not feel genuine. Cam just does not look really enthousiast. It just feels like some scripted add where he is just reading the text. With all the useless info en numbers about the company and design proces and frame.
