#FOODCYCLER #VITAMIX #REDUCEWASTE
The newest version of the FoodCycler now with Vitamix branding. Full demonstration, review, with Pros and Cons. Processor bucket is dishwasher safe. I always recommend hand-washing for best results.
UPDATE: The 3 year warranty applies only to the Foodcycler. The processing bucket and filters not covered under warranty.
FC-50 was provided to me courtesy of Vitamix for review with no expectations of a certain outcome. Results in this video are based on my own conclusions and opinions.
Spoiler Alert!! I really like this machine!

Thanks! Just got one of these and your video helped me set it up perfectly!! I have the User Manual, but I am always afraid I will misinterpret something, so I like to find videos that clearly walk through everything step by step--and yours did exactly that! Also loved that you showed the end result of various food items after they have been processed as that is really what everyone is curious about. You definitely knew what information your target audience was after.

Thank you for the detailed demo of this product. Just got it and was trying to figure out how to install the two filter caps (maybe read the instructions) but the video showed me so I saved some time :) Also, I thought I was buying a product made in the USA since I own a Vitamix blender I assumed all vitamix products were made in the US a bit of a disappointment. Thank you again :)

Great video Henry, thank you! The only addition I would make for setup is this: when you are installing the 2 filter caps in the back both filters must be taken out, the filter cap placed on each & then the RIGHT filter must go in first. I just purchased my FC-50 & it took me a few minutes to figure it out, but hopefully this will help others. But I really do appreciate your video!
@BlendingWithHenry

Thank you for watching, and I always appreciate extra helpful feedback, although the way I installed the filters in the back was exactly as described in the owner's manual. The manual states to install the filters first then place the cap on top of them afterwards. Nothing mentioned about right or left goes first. I read all owner's manuals before I attempt to make a video so my viewers get the proper info. 🙏🏾

Well done sir! I saw a video from a food blogger and she kept her Food Cycler in a closet plugged in. She kept her collection bucket with filtered lid near her sink. When she filled it up, then she would take it to the closet and turn it on. Opened my eyes as I don't have any counter space. So move this large heavy machine from the not so awesome to awesome column. 😂

tx for posting the video 1. how often do you have to change filters ? yeah, i know it varies :-) but your scraps won't vary that much so it would be good to know. if you use it daily that could mount up fast since the filters are not cheap 2. last, doesn't this scrap stuff still need to break down before you can actually consider it compost ? the ads are a bit misleading in this regard :-)

I was looking at a video trying to clean the bucket of my machine as it was getting coated with a brown residue that was difficult to remove. I have now found out the best way to clean the bucket of this mess is to put dry white bread in the composting load and it works very well, just include the bread in a normal load.

if I have a food dehydrator and a food processor, I could do the same, right? I know it's more work since the Vitamix Foodcycler is an all-in-one machine.
@BlendingWithHenry
@BlendingWithHenry 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda! I would perhaps not put a food dehydrator in the same category because that type of device is used for creating dried foods or potpourri. I don't see a use for a food dehydrator as a way to dry food scraps such as onion skins or banana peels. It takes 24-48 hours to dehydrate foods as opposed to 3 to 8 hours with the Foodcycler. Same with the food processor I don't think it's an ideal product to break down food scraps. The smells in your home from the food scraps won't be very tolerable. The foodcycler is an enclosed system with filters to absorb smells during processing.
@lindachong7009

The fiber is healthier than the juice.

That's debatable. Some people can't consume fiber based on health conditions and juicing is their only way to get nutrients by mouth.

Cool idea but not ideal. The amount of filters you would end up paying for just in 1 year.

Hmm ... five hours of electricity used vs tossing into the yard. I think I will just use the sun.

moretacos1 Fair enough, but I don’t have a garden. My food waste bin stinks and it’s a pain having to walk down three flights of stairs to the collection bin and back. Still, there’s no way I could justify buying this machine.

In NC I just threw it into the woods. Recycling at it’s best! Here in the big city in Va. I put it into plastic bags and into the trash. 😤😤😤 No one in my community does composting! Geesh! I really get mad about putting food remains in a PLASTIC BAG to sit in a dump somewhere for 15 years! I’m open to suggestions. This seems like a good idea.

@@nkt1 I used to freeze it for a few days until they collected the bin (during the summer) during the winter, things don't go bad as fast.

@@tomaram6938 try drying it under the sun as moretacos1 suggested, (I did not think about that before) and then throw it on any place with plants or trees.
