Y’all I love this podcast but this episode was hard. Feels a little like bashing the church. I’m a parent and I homeschool and we don’t do Harry Potter or Halloween (kids dress up and eat candy, but there’s no scary or evil stuff) or yoga. I don’t agree that we’re all afraid. This world is full of evil stuff and our kids are precious. What we condone and what we celebrate is important to our kids. I don’t care about nail polish and I’m sorry that happened to Cory. I do see a lot of hypocrisy in the church and fear based hate, but I also see genuine Christians trying to stand against things that are clearly not of God. It’s tough parenting out here y’all. Trying to do our best. Try explaining what LGBTQIA+ is to a seven year old who sees it everywhere. I don’t even talk about sex with my kids until they’re at least 9 or 10. Why do I have to explain others’ sexual preferences to them at that age? Ok, I really don’t need to explain myself or my parenting, but just know that as a voice that a lot of real Christians listen to, your tone toward us out here trying to do our best because we love our kids is heard and noticed. No hate from me here, just kinda bummed. ❤

My son was saved by realizing that there's hell and heaven and he didn't want to go to hell. He's a strong growing Christian, he became a Christian at 4 years of age or so. He LOVES the Lord and knows that he is loved.

I'm so happy him and his wife did a live Zoom with the girls to encourage them. They needed that...Love this...was already a fan but now!!!❤️👏😍 Christ followers edifying the body!!!😇

As someone who has been heavily affected by a lineage of occultist as well as dabbling in it myself before Jesus saved my soul, I find the comments on yoga not only completely erroneous but also ignorant and prideful. Growing up in a lineage of occultist resulted in me being molested as a child, going on in life to then be drug, raped, and sodomized amongst many other egregious things. This IS a product of dabbling in darkness and opening oneself up to these practices which do indeed include YOGA. Yoga is extremely spiritual and any practicing Hindu will not only tell you that but will tell you you cannot separate the spiritualism of it from the motions. Each pose is indeed a worship pose for their over 300 million false gods (demons) and partaking in these asanas and salutations does indeed open you up to each and every one of these demons. As Christians, we cannot be possessed by demons but can be under the influence if we allow it through practices as such. Also to be noted, if someone who is not in Christ is lead into these practices these can indeed be possessed (I was). It is of utmost importance that we as Christians have Biblical discernment. We must follow the One True Living God and Him alone. We are not to worship other false gods nor be partakers in darkness. What fellowship does darkness have with light? The answer is none. If we say otherwise we only deceive ourselves. Essentially what is being said in this video on the topic of yoga is - because we are in Christ, we can go do anything and should not be afraid which is nothing short of a heinous suggestion. To put it in perspective, this is the same as saying because I am in Christ I can worship other gods, or because I am in Christ I can do witchcraft, or because I am in Christ I can do magic. This is not only prideful but unwise, unbiblical, and flat-out dangerous. Christ would never call us to partake in such things for they are an abomination in His sight and a violation of His Laws. I pray God gives Cory more Biblical discernment and that he and his family cling closely to Gods Word. I also pray he and others realize the damage this can do by possibly leading someone astray. I personally find it completely disheartening and saddening when I hear other so-called siblings in Christ essentially making light of my (vile) experience by saying others can do such things and not have to worry (because Christ) or even make fun of what is a very serious subject. The consequences are severe, traumatic, and damaging. I thank God all my days for not only pulling me out of the darkness but helping me heal from it. He is a Restorer. I had (maybe a little remaining) what I would call 'spiritual trauma' from the occult when I was first saved, and what made it hard for me at times to trust God fully was when I would see many self-professing Christians partaking in the very things I was doing in the occult. It was utterly confusing and it made me (at first) think that Jesus was only another lie. Thankfully God is patience and loving and He showed me the Truth of who He is. He has helped restore me from my past and continues to. I cannot stress this enough, my past was a result of the worship of other gods as well as spiritual practices like yoga. I pray this message helps whoever may read this -in Jesus' name. Be blessed.

I’ve been following for a long time & just recently found the podcast thru TikTok. I watched one current episode and then went back to the beginning to see what all I’d missed. The podcast has to be the best thing you’ve ever done and this particular episode has been one of the funniest so far with a great mix of serious thoughts on real issues with the church.

My husband went into youth ministry because he was saved at 17 by an amazing youth pastor. He did it for 40 years and was very influential at several large churches. I just hate it when people down play that roll. As in "hey any cool guy out there, just grab them". Its so not the way we have ever viewed the roll of a youth pastor. It is a very important and serious position.

A lot of the comment's here are completely missing out on Cory's point. Painting nails has nothing (or shouldn't have anything) to do with homosexuals relations. That's Cory's point. He's right. He didn't say that the homosexual actions are not a sin. Rather, he said that the concept of painting nails being feminine is a society construct. Then gave examples to demonstrate this point (such as robes being masculine at the time, but feminine now).

Just a thought on Yoga, I grew up in India, and I think if you want Yoga to becoming a supernatural healing method, then you need to tap onto the spiritual realm of it. if you just want to do it as a stretching exercise, then it is just simply moving your body in those positions. It is the heart (spititual thoughts) that matters.

So sad. I remember when I hated the church because of the hypocrites that I knew and it effected my faith even... Luckily I matured and realized that there are hypocrites everywhere you walk. As the saying goes, you wouldn't quit going to the gym because obese people with eating disorders are there. I don't think you have to go to church to have faith but remember why you're there in the first place, to be closer to God, not people.

Obviously people that reacted with hate to the nail polish thing were wrong, but, I'm sorry, Corey is also wrong. Men not wearing dresses , for instance, is also a "societal construct". We can't bury our head in the sand and ignore that a guy wearing a dress (remember Harry Styles?) or nail polish is sending a message that's part of a broader movement to upend differences between male and female. Besides, the bible tells us to "abstain from all appearance of evil." (Thessalonians 5.22)

First I'd like to say that I really enjoy John and his comedy. We're not always going to agree with everyone 100% of the time and that's ok. That being said, I'd like to give my point of view when it comes to folks putting him "in a box" conservatively or from a Christian standpoint. I also did this (subconsciously). I do think that yes, some of it is assumed but I have noticed him straddling the fence on issues lately. He definitely seemed more unafraid of his stance on things before (maybe a year or so ago). I just remember some of his first videos on KZfaq and how unapologetic and honest he was about his feelings and religious beliefs (or so I assumed) and I was very appreciative of that. I noticed shortly after that he seemed to pull back and instead refrained from adding his opinions to things and just made fun of everyone. It's probably a good business move but I do miss the focus of Christianity (in a positive sense) in his work. This is what really made him stand out in the crowd for me. John, if you read these, I still love watching you! Just some personal thoughts of mine.

I usually enjoy this podcast, but I was not impressed at all by Cory Asbury's belittling of many (if not most) Christians' concerns with the increasing sexual/gay/trans/drag influences being thrown in our young children's faces every day. I can't watch 5 minutes of tv/KZfaq/streaming without seeing a commercial with a drag queen or some kind of homosexual content in it. Cory might be able to provide a very protected and sheltered life for himself and his family, but those of us who send our kids to public schools and don't live under a rock worry about the evil influences of the world on our children and ourselves. And I know someone who teaches yoga and she is very into new age stuff (astrology etc.) and I'd bet that that kind of thinking is still widespread in the yoga community, so to reduce yoga to simply doing stretches and scoffing at Christians who keep their distance from such influences is just asinine...to use Cory's words. Cory comes off as very conceited and self-righteous to me and I pray that God would humble him.
