So about the UV bunny. I tried looking for it it couldn’t find it. But something occurred to me. The first time I got to and out of the house, and fell down that tall pit to that large room, I happened to have the uv lamp on. I hit something as I entered the main room. I didn’t know what it was at the time. But after watching this video, it occurred to me. By pure coincidence, I fell on top of the UV bunny.

A simpler way to reach the “one” over the swordfish lake is to go to the other side of the lake, raise the block using the slinky, and then frisbee surf off the block to the alcove over the lake. I got there on my first try. No tedious bubble jumps needed!

Billy Basso confirmed that the Floor Is Lava bunny method that the community found is the INTENDED way of getting that bunny.

for the spike bunny, you don’t actually have to do the forward disk jump twice in a row. If you time it right, you can jump uo to the third level, open your inventory while between the spikes, and equip and use the wheel. You will be stuck in place, but if you hold left on the stick and double tap square as fast as you can, you’ll move to the left without hitting the spikes, and eventually reach the end.

As a completionist I can never entirely jive with these secrets required to 100% the game, because some of these are just too mental for one human. Even the developer in his Time Capsule message was expecting people to have only 100%'d the game by the time Animal Well 2 was completing development (so like another 6-7 years) It is fun watching the internet work together to find these but if I was on my own I would mentally break down haha

Agreed. I found 3 bunnies while doing a thorough playthrough of this game, and I have a super completionist mindset. The convoluted bullshit the devs require of you to 'truly' 100% this game bothers me. But I get it, it's a community challenge, it's just not really my thing. Imo, the game would have been better without the wheel, the bouncy ball, the remote and the top. the cat puzzle and kangaroo chase can get lost too. the UV light thing is cool, but it could've been a mechanic that guides you to the remaining eggs/secrets to be found instead of requiring you to aimlessly wander the map to find the secrets. Basically, I want a game to be able to guide the player to 100% without requiring to follow an online guide or needing to waste more time searching in postgame than playing the actual game. Even just the true ending has too steep requirements to be found naturally by the playerbase.

For me, the way these secrets and "100%" puzzles are designed just oozes a lot of charm. Sure, I relate that I would never figure them out by myself - but that's exactly the reason I love it so much. It's reminiscent of the early 2000's where video game secrets circulated as playground rumors because the internet wasn't accessible to everyone yet. It's possible to live your whole life without knowing the truth - I can fondly compare these with getting the Regi Trio from Pokemon Ruby/Emerald or discovering Mirage Island. Most players were pretty young at the time, so chances are you'd just be accused of lying if you say you found a secret or something. At the end of the day, these aren't even "required", it's content served for completionists. Regular players could very well conclude their experience with Layer 1, as intended by the (solo) developer. Exchanging findings with others to uncover 100% of the game takes me back to those aforementioned days where info was passed around word-of-mouth. And that's just beautiful. It's a nostalgic and humbling experience, we're being taught a real life lesson: we can't handle EVERYTHING alone. I really can't express any further how much I adore this game.

@@Rbum4 Fully agree. I only found 56 eggs before giving up and looking for a guide. I wouldn't have found the wheel on my own 'cause I thought those arrows on the walls were for another bunny. I actually got closer to the true ending of Tunic than to Animal Well's, but that too required a guide for the last piece of the last puzzle

if you dont want to deal with the sword fish you can actually use the frisbee on the left side of the lake. With the bubble wand you can get high enough to ride the frisbee from left and you can get in the room with a single normal jump.

@@cabbageable jump in the wheel and use b.wand. I did it using wheel too. Upper section is too small for rolling, so you just wear and unwear wheel for clip forward

This video was a journey. I thought I was pretty clever for getting the eggs myself. I even solved a quarter of these puzzles before reaching the endgame. But nothing could have prepared me for the kind of absolute unbelievable madness that Mr Basso had in store for us. Thank you for your efforts to make this reality whole for me. I've never bought a coffee for a youtuber before, but I'll be damned if you pay for your next cup. This was a transcendent journey for me, and I thank you for being my sherpa. Thanks for not only showing how to get the bunnies, but also working through how one would solve their puzzles. I myself got filtered after managing to find all the eggs, egg song, and bunny island, only finding 5 bunnies before calling it quits for real. The puzzles were fun, but man most of the bunny puzzles are a step above me.

I do have a lot of interesting things recorded, but first up is the unicode stuff. I'm not sure when I'll cover the...cheaty...side of things on here, but I do have it all recorded. I'm much more likely to first stream those things, since I will be working on some speedruns and, naturally, exploits, glitches, tech and the like get explored during those sessions...

PROTIPS ON "THE FLOOR IS LAVA" BUNNY: - Use the ball on the dogs underneath you, theyll focus on it until you leave the room indefinitely, and not try to reach up to grab you so you have easier maneuvering room for the first and most frequented area in this challenge. It makes resets much more painless. Spam the hell out of the bubbles when you start getting to the room where you begin ascending at, as you want plenty of platforming points in that tight space youll have to shimmy through suddenly right from the start. Pause when you get to a new milestone, i think my pause right before using the controller and it saved me from losing my cool and overcorrecting movement. This at least helps me out personally. I spent about 2 hours on this and I'm moderate to ass-tier at platforming games. I tried the alternative disk method but holy hell, that's for actual good players, and im absolutely trash. Those guys just made it look easy because their beasts with this game 😂

Protip/hack for The Floor is Lava bunny, at least if you're on PC. Using Nvidia Control Panel, you can limit the framerate of the game to as low as 20fps, which actually causes the game to run at one third speed. This makes it MUCH easier to navigate on the bubbles to do what needs to be done.

The first secret bunny I found was the crow bunny, personally. I’m pretty proud of myself that I was able to find around 9 of the bunnies on my own without any help. Though I must admit that a few of them (and especially the BDTP puzzle) were ones that I never would’ve been able to figure out on my own.

21:35 You don't even need to return to the Mock Disc Shrine to disable the Ghost Dog when you're done with the dog bunny, as returning the Mock Disc to the Ghost Dog statue in dogtown will disable the Ghost Dog. Also, the first time I encountered the dream bunny I was like 'no way, couldn't be' but then the next time it appeared, I jumped up to get it and holy crap it was a secret bunny!

I'm glad I held off from spoilers enough to find most of these on my own. I needed the pieces for the mural, needed to look up the answer for the dog statue, dream, force, bulb, and barcode bunnies although I suspected the origami so I would've gotten that one on my own if I did it first, and lastly needed the location above the swordfish because I thought I already looked there so I would've never went back to check.

13:03 For anybody like me who gets really bad carpal tunnel, a way to make this easier is to set up an auto key clicker to spam the x key. An interval of 200 milliseconds works well for this. Makes it so you can focus on platforming instead of timing.

For the disc jump bunny, if you do a disc jump from the top of the moving block (after raising it with the slink) from the room to the left, it is significantly easier. You do have to do the same sort of disc jump as you do in the challenge, so I figured that one out quickly as I had to practice doing that dang trick for so long to even get in the room.

I got the swordfish room bunny today before giving up on my remaining few bunnies and watching this. I did the swordfish room by riding the wheel, switching to bubble wand via inventory menu, and instantly pressing bubble and jump when coming out of the menu. Then riding wheel again on the next level of spikes. The top level requires you to spam the wheel on and off because the path is too small to roll through. Before that I was trying multiple jumps with turning the wheel on and off in between. It was almost working!

Yes! This. I have always felt the same way, but nobody knows anything yet. Obviously that is a hint for the duck bunny - it's a 100 year old optical illusion, sure...but it also looks like the creepy beluga whale because of all the water ripples around it. And then those 5 red circles... I know it must hint at something else, but what?

The numbered map stamps puzzle was SO cool, it took me ages thinking increasingly outside the box to find it out, I thought it had to do with the max stamp count, and how much of each were left or something at first

Man I remember finding the duck illusion painting with the faces very very early on and as soon as I found the faces=notes chart at the end I began searching the entire map for this room again but I just couldn't find it anymore!

On the last one I did not do the forward disc throw. That was so much simpler than what ended up working for me. I used the wheel to get across, jumped, opened inventory, switch to wand and using the momentum from the jump, bubble down, bubble to safety. I repeated it for the next part too and I found this weird mechanic with the wheel and the top gap. It sort of glitches across by moving while equipping/unequipping rapidly. I had a good chuckle out of it, but that disc throw makes so much more sense. Glad I found an unintended method though.

I gave it an honest attempt and got to Rabbit number 4 and gave up... And I got the UV Rabbit which became no 5 and have to watch a guide. And what a Puzzle and reward

Notably, there are nine more bunnies existing in closed rooms outside of the map. There's no way to get there without cheats or glitches, and some of those rooms also have save-corrupting switches.

Amazing video - there's no way I would have gotten these without it! Although, I'm confused as to why you assign numbers to directions. I don't think there needs to be an assignment. It's just that one face is up, one is up right, one is right, and so on so forth. Or does it have to do with the fact that you're on PC? I'm playing on switch, so I totally understand if that's it!! Hahaha! I should have kept watching. I'm realizing now that the assignments are given in the game. Never mind!!

22:10 that's one of like 3 that I discovered myself, and it actually doesn't require a bb wand. You can disk-jump from the left side of the lake from the top stair. But it's interesting that of course there are multiple ways to get into the platforming room. I didn't know you can just overload the swordfish.

I lot of these i did figure out. The dream one i came across because i was looking up info on the mural, i glance over and i see the bunny dream bubble, had to wait 2 more times because you only have enough time to bubble jump 1-2 times to reach it before it disappears, it also takes long time to appear if you're actively waiting for it to show up lol. Also Fk the floor is lava bunny and those tight ass gaps you have to work around, wouldn't be so bad without those.

Btw a better way to get to the final bunny (as in to get to the room not actually do the thing) Is On the left there is a block, activate it with the slink and then get on top of it and perform a forward disc ride This is likely the intended method to get into the hole due to the swordfish and the fact the entire room's theme is forward disc riding

I got the last/spike bunny in the stupidest way possible, by using the wheel to get where I needed to jump, then I claw gripped my controller to jump, cancel the wheel, and access my inventory to equip the bubble wand, then get off the inventory and use the bubble while still ascending to land on the bubble and then jump from it. In the top row the game doesn't even let you roll with the wheel because it gets stuck in between the spikes, but at that point I was locked in so I figured out that I could move forward by canceling and reactivating the wheel very fast. By the end I was almost sure this was not intended but the checkpoint implying that this was a difficult platforming section still had me guessing xD

Thanks so much for this video! What an amazing game at what, 38mb? Wild! I'm a bit sad I'm not skilful enough to get the parkour bunny or even reach the spiky bunny challenge as the swordfish kept popping my bubble and I'm too stubborn to die enough to unlock bubble wand upgrade! Glad I could at least 98% this game haha GOTY for me!

Regarding the UV Bunny, I was going crazy looking everywhere, re-entering the rooms, etc. until I noticed that the UV lamp can detect some sparks if the rabbit was there. Just follow the sparks and you will find the bunny. It can move several rooms in any direction, or up the ladders.

I spent several hours trying to find UV bunny. It turned out that I already had it. During the game you can stumble upon it by accident without using UV lighth. If you have trouble finding it, it may already be taken, just check the flying island (with UV light)

I messed around with that damn mural for SO MANY HOURS. And it's unsolvable without the rest of the community? I guess it's neat, but for those of us trying to find all the secrets without looking up spoilers, it's...not great. Which bums me out because I put 50 hours straight into the game as the main game was so fantastic.

The floor is lava one, below the room you used to switch the state of the door, on the right wall there is a similar looking circle, maybe jumping into it teleports you? (I haven't played the game so that might be something else)

The one underneath the dog head? Nah, that’s a standard fast travel point. Once activated, you walk in the mouth like the Mario 2 boss doors

22:17 You can actually activate that block to the screen to the left here, get on top of the box and utilize the same disk jumping technique you use for that very puzzle.

In a room with a bar code grass you can actually caugh a kengoroo. It droops into a hole that opens after playing notes, and after that if you throw firecracker there it will try to escape. It will gain more and more speed and eventually escape hole, but before that you will be able to see kengoroos dream at least that worked for me like that

For the spike bunny instead of using bubbles to get past the sword fish disc jump from the left side of the lake. One jump from the chest and then an additional disc jump will get you high enough to reach platform. Way easier.

Well, I'm happy with having collected most of these on my own and at least clued into almost all the others to some degree or another. ones I needed the hint for: bunny mural (obviously, though I did take the time to solve the jigsaw myself) "use the force" was the one I didn't have an idea about prior, and even knowing where the code is, my Switch screen simply displays too dark for me to actually see it bulb bunny I made the connection to the bulbs but not further to the sparkles, went around playing 1213 everywhere in the vain hope something would happen. The Floor Is Lava the location was blatantly suspicions, but I would've required a freak occurrence of respawning at an offscreen last "safe spot" to even have a chance of thinking of that method to get there! Dog bunny I figured the disc was still takeable for something, did not make the connection with the statue. And with the BDTP I'd noticed the ears but hadn't figured out how to read them. I feel a bit bad about just watching that part of the video, but I also need to stop letting this game, amazing as it is, take over my life.

For The Floor is Lava, I found both methods too difficult. I ended up figuring out my own method, which involves bubble warping (to be fair, that is a rather advanced tech/glitch) to the middle of the central shaft and falling down the pit in middle of the beacons. From there, it’s much easier to platform to the ladder which lets you climb down and jump into some water below. Using the lantern between jumps is highly recommended to avoid getting stuck on the shadows.

in my game the for the origami one the computer isnt on so i got the origami figure but no bunny ever appeared - the computer screen stays blank

While playing, I eventually took noticed of notes that would play. After some trial and error, I recreated the notes and was teleported! This just takes you to the top of the well...and I later found the direction inputs for the song with the UV light. That said, there are also notes that play, not inside the mural room, but down below where everyone has their unique puzzle piece. I haven't (yet) attempted to recreate the song...but wondering if anyone else has?

omg the floor is lava rabbit... my leg muscle is on fire from tensing from rage be very careful of the platforms in the remote activating area and to get over the wall, spam bubbles, and they will push each other out of the way so you have a massive group of bubbles

17:45 "besides, the song is hauntingly beautiful" definitely. honestly, I wish there were some videos put up somewhere that just had the song. no, not "here's how you solve the puzzle in this room", just the song. unfortunately, I only found 2 videos that focus on the song, and neither of them actually really focus on the song, just the inputs (since they tap each note very briefly, meaning the viewer doesn't get to appreciate the music). and of course all google shows are the 20 IGN sponsored links for how to solve various puzzles. shame.
